Not gonna lie, all the crazy Stands are the only thing JoJo really has going for it. Araki's pulling bullshit out his ass left and right, but it's awesome bullshit, so I can deal.
What kind of bullshit are you talking about?

Well, Araki never expected to get past Stardust Crusaders, so DiU and after were basically made up as he went. That's why Yoshikage Kira and Diavolo don't appear until halfway through their respective parts. The plot, threadbare as it is, is only really there to railroad the protagonists from one Stand battle to the next. Instead of the conflict driving the plot, the plot drives the conflict.

So instead of writing a complex story with deep character interaction and development, Araki just says to himself, "wouldn't it be cool if they fought dinosaurs/tiny soldiers/invisible zombies/a pedophile ape that controls a boat/a radio tower?"

Yes it would, but that's bullshit. Awesome bullshit, but still bullshit.

But I believe it.
I see it as Araki wanting a break from writing a multi part saga spanning several decades. The first three parts are technically a trilogy culminating in Egypt, so it makes sense for him to just say "Fuck it, let's do something fun for a while". Especially since he pulls a hitchhiker and makes part six his "trilogy in 4 parts".

This is good.
Yeah, let's further legalize Trump's capacity to be an autocrat. Nothing can go wrong.
the more we let them ruin the world the closer we'll get to the glorious workers' revolution
Jokes on you, accelerationism led to Trump in the first place.

You really don't get it do you? I'm on top of the world because the most powerful man in the world now does what I want.
I don't know dude you seem pretty down in the dumps.

And I can assure you Trump is not your personal servant and will NOT be doing what anybody wants. Unless of you are homophobic and racist and hate your country and went to see the economy and environment crumble.
You're pretty garbage at reading people, this has been my themesong for the past two weeks:

No, I am racist, say the word as much as you want, it isn't an insult anymore.

You know, I personally thought that Trumps comments on Iran were exaggerated and should instead be directed towards Saudi Arabia, but if it makes time bombs like you realize you're not really American, and that when Iran is attacked you identify more with them, than you do with white people, then I'm fine with Trump's comments. Because you have to go back, your goats and cousins are waiting.

lmao you're really buttblasted

You aren't discussing anything, you literally pop out of nowhere and start shilling for Trump and post random links as if they give your posts more substance.
Why would you think I'm mad, when I'm still living in one of the best years of my life?

I've had more fun than I can keep track of and I'm having a great time on this site, not the least bit mad. You meanwhile have serious projection issues, you're the one that's been ignoring everything I'm saying just so you can think that I'm the one frothing with rage.

I've been trying to talk this out with you but that requires you to take your head out of your ass and act like the adult you're meant to be. So I'll just say this

>I want to be viewed as intelligent by linking /pol/ tier sources

Good luck with that buddy.

Edit: I didn't want to pick apart your post but it's fucking retarded. Actual CTR shilling was what in conspiracy theorists minds' inspired mainstream media coverage of Trump.

And how is Trump's media coverage have anything to do with what we're discussing? I was just making a joke, you're being a total autistic tryhard linking a source on the Flood to try and appear intelligent. I was never arguing anything so there was never any need to try and prove me wrong by linking anything. Fucking retard lmao.
Because your joke was self defeating and doesn't make sense
>he defends trump, wow he's literally a paid shill for clinton, this makes perfect logical sense
Turns out, there's more to making a joke than referencing internet culture, who'da thunk it?

And I already told you, the reason CTR got meme'd on is because after years of casually joking about shills, Clinton ends up hiring literal shills to help her campaign.
>wow just wow, Azendac linked something that totally destroys my asshole, better call him a try hard
Dude how autistic are you that you can't understand I said the way you act it's as if you're a paid shill for Trump. My original post was "$0.01 has been deposited in your account". It was your choice to get butthurt.

You keep linking random stuff that I've never even disputed, and now you're linking the CTR website... what? Are you ok?
Because your joke does not make sense, it's fundamentally pro-Trump and you're trying to use it against trump because you seem to be incapable of understanding these things. Again, how is discussing things on a website purpose built for discussion things, somehow shilling? whoa, I like a person that you don't and wont bend over and spread my asshole when someone disagrees with me, guess I'm just being paid to do this, nobody on the internet actually possess a spine.

And most importantly, your original post wasn't even funny. If you want to bantz and meme then do it with some finesse

Thiel has no credibility in the field though. Yes, the guy's a success in terms of the science and tech industry, but he himself has no experience in government office or what is needed to run such an enterprise. As much as people hate Washington insiders (To which I'd argue that Sessions' is the epitome of one), throwing new people into roles that create policy for hundreds of millions of people is backwards.

The White House and the executive branch is not a place for newcomers to find out what politics is about. They can live up to their campaign promise, but the fact is it's a terribly risky precedent setting move.
What I'll disagree with, is the idea that only government positions give you the experience and skill set to hold government positions. That just strikes me as an attempt to form a clique and keep out anyone that would disrupt it.

Government positions? No, I don't expect the cabinet to be filled with people who have been in government for decades. But putting in businessmen from the private industry and expecting them to easily make that transition is ridiculous - especially when we get people like Ebell taking up the EPA.

It's no different than any other job. Have the experience necessary or you shouldn't get chosen. Trump takes the approach that you be loyal and you get what you wish, experience be damned and screw whatever gets fucked up.
Yet he still went through three campaign managers in a single year, and the second one (Paul Manafort) had more experience and credentials than anyone else on the Trump campaign. Loyalty only matters on the proviso that they can also get things done, I do expect some people to "resign" over the next few years, though you would have a point then that he shouldn't have hired them in the first place.

What?

I'm saying you're just like the supposed CTR shills on /pol/, but for Trump in how hard you shill for him.

How autistic can you be to not get this.
The reason why people love to shit on CTR, is because Trump supporters happily defend him out of respect and admiration, while Hillary has to pay people people to say nice things about her. And more importantly, that "correcting the record" invariably meant "repeating the same garbage spewed by the mainstream media against Trump"

Your joke is self defeating because you're trying to compare someone that's happily supporting their preferred candidate, to someone that is literally a shill.
lmao Why do you always link something in every post as if it makes your point better? It's just cringy.

The joke is with how hard you're shilling it's as if somebody's paying you. You keep linking shit and jumping into literally anything that is slightly about Trump.
Because I want the meta audience, he really impressed me how he always had some study or article that could back up what he was saying, like that character from Dune that always had some quote or song to fit the moment.

"lol, how dare he source his claims and have discussions on a discussion board, what the fuck does he think he's doing?" That's how retarded you sound.

Let's not ignore that the supreme court gets the final say on this matter, it's partisan as fuck.
Everyone knows that, it's basic civics.

But a conservative Supreme Court could overrule itself, if Trump gets a second appointment, and an appointment is for life. It could have long-term consequences that last decades beyond a Trump presidency.
Yeah but the guy I quoted was saying it's a neutral office, that's like saying that I'm a neutral poster. Sure, I can play devil's advocate, the logic isn't hard to follow through on, but why would I?

And I'm not nearly informed enough to comment on his potential picks beyond saying that he did promise exactly this in the final debate, that picking conservative supreme courts judges was part of the ticket.

410
They're screening candidates. Why is this news?
Because they're explicitly filtering out people that were against Trump during the campaign, and searching for Washington outsiders.

So they're hiring no people with no opposing views and likely little experience to the offices they're being given?

Why does that sound terrible?
Potentially yes, Trump's already set the precedent for that. I would hope that they're trying to avoid an Obama situation where congress stonewalls him at every step, given that Speaker Ryan is already trying to undermine Trump. To which Trump hit back with his original.campaign promise.

The idea that a loyal outsider (Thiel) is working on finding other loyal outsiders does however contradict suspicions about Trump backpedaling and just taking whatever Washington guys are available. Which if nothing else, is commitment to what he said he'd do.

It's one of those "it's retarded on purpose so you can't hate on it" shows.
Nah you're thinking of stephen universe. JJBA is one of those "It's a genre piece that should be held to it's genre's standards". You don't criticize a comedy for not being scary, that's stupid.

And besides, everyone hates part 5, everyone thinks part 1 is weak, there's a big consensus that part 3 was kind of shit for the first half and that half takes way too long anyway. And in every single part there's plenty of legitimate criticism to have, like dropped plot lines, deux ex machinas, redundant characters/events. And if you really want to stretch it, the habbit of characters either being out of the loop or completely on point, is a little hard to believe.

David production has really dropped the ball on quality since the end of the egypt arc. I didn't even watch part 4 and just finished the manga yesterday.

I would argue that it's not the characters trying to be quirky, but the author himself deliberately writing a world in which quirky stuff just happens, and the characters reflect that. As for people stating the obvious, that's a carry over from exposition in manga panels, it's needed since powers in jojo get pretty convoluted, and scenes that aren't fights tend to centre around a specific detail or piece of trivia that araki's stumbled across. Also, similar to how adaptations of 4-koma manga tend to have a stop-start feel to them, jojo has a very specific "3 beats per page" rhythm, where very page has a beggining-middle-end structure even if there's more or less than 3 panels, such as:

The right page's rhythm is question-answer-scene change, while the left page's rhythm is movement-dialogue-setup. This rhythm often requires dialogue in order to work, so there you go.

Because they're explicitly filtering out people that were against Trump during the campaign, and searching for Washington outsiders. Which is significantly different from the reports of Trump filling his cabinet with "swampy insiders".

Also Peter Thiel's a pretty smart guy, knowing that he's actively working in the transition team is good news for people worried Trump would hire unqualified idiots.

Airstrip one coming soon™
http://phys.org/news/2016-11-uk-lawmakers-surveillance-powers.html

Quote
The British parliament this week gave the green light to new bulk surveillance powers for police and intelligence services that critics have denounced as the most far-reaching of any western democracy.

The Investigatory Powers Bill would, among other measures, require websites to keep customers' browsing history for up to a year and allow law enforcement agencies to access them to help with investigations.

Edward Snowden, the former US National Security Agency contractor turned whistleblower, said the powers "went further than many autocracies".

"The UK has just legalised the most extreme surveillance in the history of western democracy," he tweeted.

The bill, the first major update of British surveillance laws for 15 years, was passed by the House of Lords and now only needs rubber-stamping by Queen Elizabeth II.

Prime Minister Theresa May introduced the bill in March when she was still interior minister, describing it as "world-leading" legislation intended to reflect the change in online communications.

It gives legal footing to existing but murky powers such as the hacking of computers and mobile phones, while introducing new safeguards such as the need for a judge to authorise interception warrants.

But critics have dubbed it the "snooper's charter" and say that, in authorising the blanket retention and access by authorities of records of emails, calls, texts and web activity, it breaches fundamental rights of privacy.

Rights organisation Liberty has challenged the legislation at the European Court of Justice, arguing it is incompatible with human rights law, and a judgement is expected next year.

"The passage of the Snoopers' Charter through parliament is a sad day for British liberty," said Bella Sankey, the group's policy director.

"Under the guise of counter-terrorism, the state has achieved totalitarian-style surveillance powers –- the most intrusive system of any democracy in human history.

"It has the ability to indiscriminately hack, intercept, record, and monitor the communications and internet use of the entire population."

Jim Killock, executive director of digital campaigners Open Rights Group, warned the impact of the legislation would reach beyond Britain.

"It is likely that other countries, including authoritarian regimes with poor human rights records, will use this law to justify their own intrusive surveillance powers," he said.

The bill also reinforces existing encryption powers, allowing officials to ask technology companies to provide content where it is deemed "practicable", although firms fear it may open the door to further demands on the sector.
