You'd have a point if people existed in a vacuum, but the continued existence of civilization itself requires certain groups of people to be given more protection and "valued" more than others. You don't send all your women to war because that kills your ability to reproduce, and you don't let your children die because that undoes all your work on reproducing, and a society that does not reproduce dies out:

I agree with most of this sentiment as somebody who loves the idea of Christmas. The modern execution is pretty shit tbh.
It's totally natural--and a sign of a healthy mind--to become disillusioned with holidays and other silly traditions once you reach a certain age, but the observations Deci made were not only completely vapid and puerile on every level, they were also delivered with his air of pomposity and arrogance--as though he were "woke" and making some offensively ballsy statement. When he's just not.
Maybe if he toned himself down a little bit, and actually brought up something new to hate about Christmas, rather than cite the most tired possible examples (muh commercialism, muh atheism, muh muh muh), then he may have come off less like the blustering idiot he is--but he didn't, and posted that cringe-tacular mess instead.
I would have liked to see his original post, If only to remember as and example of "how not to post". And since we're on topic, I think my biggest problem with modern Christmas and holidays is that they give people too much of an excuse to not be community oriented throughout the year, as if being nice to your family on Christmas somehow makes up for being an uncaring stranger the rest of the year. If you want to have good relations with your family/community then you have to be doing it almost every day, not put it off until the ritualistic time of year.

Yes and no, I've said before that prior to his Arizona immigration speech, that I was seriously considering dropping my support for him and felt like I had been taken for a ride. I wasn't alone in that assertion, /pol/, TRS, and all the other usual suspects had been highly critical of Trump whenever he looked like he was "cucking out" as they say. There were many other common /pol/ critiques of Trump such as his retarded stance against Iran, his closeness to Israel, his skill as a manipulator (there had been very vocal people who thought he had ulterior motives up until the presidential debates), and of course the fact that he did not want to gas the kikes and start a race war now. Let's also not forget the lowest of low hanging fruits, CTR. The loudest of all fruits, MSM and everyone who watches it (/pol/lacks do have families, and everyone in the world has an opinion on Trump). That to do this day 4chan's /pol/ is significantly more divided than 8chan's /pol/, and 8/pol/ had to put up with /leftypol/ for about a year. And IIRC there were even some fairly vocal libertarians deriding Trump's big state policies, but they've mostly been brow beaten into submission. Of course there was an overwhelmingly large consensus that Trump is /pol/ approved, nobody can deny that, but you'd have to be using a fairly loose definition of "echo chamber" in order to call either /pol/ one with regards to Trump.
