The concept of a single aircraft that can fulfill multiple roles and serve several branches of the military is what killed the F-35. In trying to do everything, it compromised and now it sucks at doing anything. 573

The Flood / Re: Anyone else think that the F-35 might be a front for another project?« on: October 09, 2015, 04:46:50 PM »I sincerely hope it is. The U.S. military is pretty good at misplacing money, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was revealed that much of the money going into the F-35 dissapeared. If this is the case, I would hope it would have gone to another military project that is being kept off books or something like that and not to some greedy politicians. Or maybe they have some sort of revolutionary technological breakthrough that they are going to "discover" during the F-35's development. Something that would make things a lot cheaper would make the military its money back in the long run. Something that wouldn't make any sense being discovered in any other context, so that the military can hide how advanced it is bheind the cutains. I know it seems like a longshot, but its better than imagining we suck that bad at spending money.I don't think it is. I have worked with several of the companies on that project. I think it really is that fucked up.This is what I'm really hoping isn't the case. 576
The Flood / Re: Anyone else think that the F-35 might be a front for another project?« on: October 09, 2015, 04:39:56 PM »The F-15 is still better than this overpriced hunk of junkThere are plenty of planes that are better, but many of them are aging and becoming more and more obsolete. That being said, my favorite jets are the F-16, F/A-18 SuperHornet, and A-10. All three of despicably sexy planes. 577

The Flood / Anyone else think that the F-35 might be a front for another project?« on: October 09, 2015, 04:31:56 PM »YouTube T4R. The F-35 program appears to be a phenomenal clusterfuck. It seems to be a massive mess of a dysfuntional plane that only exists because of corruption, greed, and the investments already put into it. One thing I'm hoping is the case is that the F-35 is just a front and much of the money going towards the F-35 program is being directed to another better top secret project. I see no evidence for this theory and I am genuinely worried that this might not be the case. If it's not, then that means that the U.S. military is even more incapable of properly handling money than perviously thought. The implications that arise if what is being said is true are massive. It would make me ashamed of the U.S. military. I guess there's no way to know for sure unless one of you can provide evidence for either scenario. If the money is going to another military project, I doubt we'll ever see it declassified within the next 20 years. What do you think? 579
The Flood / Re: ITT: Characters who did literally nothing right« on: October 09, 2015, 04:03:11 PM »So edgy. Too bad Amon was short lived. The whole atmosphere behind him was awesome. It would be nice to see him make a comeback. Af far as the Avatar is concerned, Amon isn't dead. She didn't know what happened. An impersonator could take his place. I'm sure there would be plenty who would still follow his cause even if he is thought to be a bender.THAT BOAT SCENE THOThis gif makes me want to rewatch the whole series.Oh wait, she lezzed out with Asami, so that makes her do one thing I approve of. 580

The Flood / Re: Pokemon would be a lot more interesting if it talked about the war more...« on: October 08, 2015, 05:28:32 PM »They still brought it up.And they also never mention it otherwise because it's irrelevant and nobody caresWell they are the ones that brought it up.War is a mature subjectNot everything has to be mature you knowIt doesn't have to be mature. It would just be nice to have some expansion on what seems to be an interesting albeit irrelevant plot point. 592
