What I can reveal was that Movies are slated to have a spoiler-free window of about two weeks, while Games will be closer to a month. Because it's generally easier (and cheaper) to go see a movie than it is to purchase and play a game all the way through?
That, and with the holidays coming up, many people don't get games until Christmas.

Naru does make a point; I'd further extend it to media in general, though. If someone posts leaked spoilers from the Walking Dead, or the next Marvel movie, or the next Neptunia game: it doesn't matter. Spoilers are spoilers, and you can't reasonably provide favoritism in the rules when one of the core problems at the moment is the lack of consistent application.

I'd agree with that, but anything over a week for any type of spoiler is far too long. Oh, now, see? Even Class is with us on the 1 week plan.
No one agrees with you, Icy. But I guess it's the staff that knows best for us, always.
I was never against a week. I just saw that you and Cheat were talking about 4-6 months as a punishment on the first page, which got me freaked out.
But yeah, I'm not really on your "side". I think punishments in general should be longer, not just spoilers...
The staff was already planning to take a revised look at editing the rules eventually. Whether or not there is another poll regarding moderation style hasn't even been discussed yet, but I imagine it will happen.
