The Flood / Re: Some guy is restarting Arby 'n' The Chief
« on: August 28, 2014, 12:45:49 PM »
It seems a bit forced and repetitive. Granted, this guy's only 16 and has limited resources it seems so he's doing a decent job with what he's got, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as the original.

5822
Jesus.

It seems anything that isn't an instant fix-it job just isn't good enough. I'm sorry they can't seem to realise that the problem of rape, while being reduced, will never truly go away just like other crimes haven't. No I'm not frickin' advocating it, but realistically reducing ANY crime to 0 is impossible without living in a totally controlled environment, ala 1984.

I'm glad those students have made it easier to check with far less hassle than what was available previously, but if these prominent figures of feminism gain support behind their "cause" and make people believe this is useless, then frankly the benefits of this detection tool will be for nothing. Good job girls.

Pretty much this, with "BECK" on one screen.

'360 and some single-player/simple games on my laptop.

I think Utopia did a good job of rationalizing something similar (although this was going to a secret organisation sterilizing on a global scale). To continue humanities survival at such comfort (1st world standards, with relative peace), large populations had to be sterilized, randomly, so that the global population would suddenly decrease over the next generation, thus saving us in general.

...but for an individual, state approved reason? I honestly couldn't think of any.

Yeah, but something like WWIII? Every kid wants to live in a post-apocolyptic wasteland, but nobody wants to live through the events that create it.

Woah no.The whole Post-Apocalyptic thing is a tad romanticized.

Honestly, unless you're like that survivalist who lived 60 years in his home-made shack in the middle of no-where, Alaska, then we're all pretty fucked. I'll stick to having electricity, booze, bacon, manufactured goods from China and outstanding medical care (all radiation and pathogen free!)

5827
It's kind of funny that whenever kinder opens his mouth in Serious it turns into a full on prison grape.

The downside of course is how it tends to derail everything.

Well, you (plural) got into some heated debate which I think is healthy.

...Shame it was pointless and led to insults, but ah well.

5828
Boris isn't the only one to have done this.

Granted, the last one I know is from the 1820's when Lord Liverpool temporarily abolished the act during mass riots after the war with France, and even then that was considered oppressive...

...but still.

Spoiler
Also, Britain has a constitution? Serious question.

5829
I guess it's just Juncker being a prick after Britain by and large weren't really pleased with him being the new... head of EU?

Even though I'm from the Catholic/Nationalist side?

I just have a general bad feeling about the that area, doesn't really get into the specifics. Nothing personal.

I have a slight bias due to you being NI (blame my upbringing/nationalism, whatever), but otherwise you're swell.

The Flood / Re: Twitter
« on: August 25, 2014, 05:43:01 PM »
I'm not keen on the idea.

First off, who would manage it. Then there's what content would be posted (another forum I frequent only posts game deals, but only because they have a dedicated board for it). Then as shown by your last thread regarding Twitter, barely anyone here uses it and/or thinks it's trash. we haven't really got a big base to support it.

Ah well. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but that's just how I see it.

The Flood / What makes you happy?
« on: August 25, 2014, 01:23:29 PM »
It can be anything! Could be the comfort and love from a significant other, your favourite hobby, or simpler things, like bacon and booze (or guns, for those who have them freely available).

So, what makes you happy?

Try and not make it too depressing, the last time I made this thread it ended up with sob stories, and frankly this isn't what this thread is for!

I'm innocent. I think.

5844
Hmm.

The Flood board seems to get waves of certain threads the second one person gets an idea for an original one (or at least, one that hasn't been done here yet). Then the board is literally "Flooded" with it and then it's shit.

Fucking faggot, what a shit name.
"hello my name is abdel majed abdel bary abu bungie ibn microsoft"

Apparently he's recognized in IS by the name of "Jihadi John".

They've run out of steam on the re-naming front.

The Flood / Re: Favorite Motto?
« on: August 23, 2014, 07:26:55 PM »
Nope. It's basically "Daniel" then add a letter or 2.

Aw.

It's just my last name means "Son of Donnell" (whoever he was), and I got the O' part to go with it.

The Flood / Re: Favorite Motto?

My last name means "Son of Daniel".
Could I be related to Daniel from the Bible?

You're an O'xxx?  Just curious.

Anywho; Everything in Moderation, including Moderation. Not entirely sure it's an "official" motto, but I certainly follow it.

Serious / Re: Your political opinions which make people rage
« on: August 23, 2014, 06:47:37 PM »
-Israel (and Hamas) are bastards. I really don't want to go into it.
-Northern Ireland should be part of the Republic (but I'm not going to bomb people over it)
-Wales needs more political power, or at least control of it's people's taxes to fund where they decide (English people in Wales seem to hate this idea for some reason)
-The increase in tuition fees for Uni are fine (will go further into this*)
-Nuclear power, while being "cleaner" than fossil fuels, is still a bad option.

Spoiler
While I (and maybe you) might have to pay more in debt through the student loans system, everyone seems to forget you don't pay back UNTIL you earn over the average wage (~£21,000), and even then, they take out a minuscule fraction of that each month (~£20) until after 30 years, where it is WIPED COMPLETELY, regardless of how much left to pay back.

I don't know whether the increase in tuition fees in the first place was entirely justified, but seeing as you're never really put in a tight spot (that's the government's problem for implementing a system which is predicted to earn less money than the previous one, not mine), you could hardly consider yourself under a "mountain of debt".

5850
I would say North Korea, but then I be interested in the "who?" and the "what next?".

After much thought this is turning into a difficult question. My interest in current affairs means I'd be bothered even if...

...Lapland? was invaded.
