Serious / Re: Let's have a little chat about the police state, shall we?« on: August 28, 2014, 07:31:16 PM »Get this,we have many more laws against knives/guns/weaponry BUT, we are not searched/oppressed/attacked, therefore giving us more freedom to do what the fuck we want. By any chance are you white? As according to recent figures (and depending on certain areas of Britain) you are 29 times more likely than a white person to stopped and searched if you are black. And to top it off, an estimated 250,000 S&S's conducted last year could've been illegal. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28923242) Only now have they decided to implement a CoC and monitoring to enforce some standard of equality. Hell, one guy said he's been stopped 140 times and yet never arrested as a result. 5823

The Flood / Re: Some guy is restarting Arby 'n' The Chief« on: August 28, 2014, 12:45:49 PM »
It seems a bit forced and repetitive. Granted, this guy's only 16 and has limited resources it seems so he's doing a decent job with what he's got, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as the original.

Serious / Re: A nail polish to detect Rohypnol, SJWs commence their butthurt.« on: August 28, 2014, 12:33:59 PM »
Jesus.
It seems anything that isn't an instant fix-it job just isn't good enough. I'm sorry they can't seem to realise that the problem of rape, while being reduced, will never truly go away just like other crimes haven't. No I'm not frickin' advocating it, but realistically reducing ANY crime to 0 is impossible without living in a totally controlled environment, ala 1984. I'm glad those students have made it easier to check with far less hassle than what was available previously, but if these prominent figures of feminism gain support behind their "cause" and make people believe this is useless, then frankly the benefits of this detection tool will be for nothing. Good job girls. 5827

Serious / Re: Is there any scenario in which a state is justified in sterilizing an individual« on: August 27, 2014, 06:42:59 PM »
I think Utopia did a good job of rationalizing something similar (although this was going to a secret organisation sterilizing on a global scale). To continue humanities survival at such comfort (1st world standards, with relative peace), large populations had to be sterilized, randomly, so that the global population would suddenly decrease over the next generation, thus saving us in general.
YouTube ...but for an individual, state approved reason? I honestly couldn't think of any. 5830
Serious / Re: Ukraine update: The Rebellion Strikes Back.« on: August 27, 2014, 06:35:53 PM »Yeah, but something like WWIII? Every kid wants to live in a post-apocolyptic wasteland, but nobody wants to live through the events that create it. Woah no.The whole Post-Apocalyptic thing is a tad romanticized. Honestly, unless you're like that survivalist who lived 60 years in his home-made shack in the middle of no-where, Alaska, then we're all pretty fucked. I'll stick to having electricity, booze, bacon, manufactured goods from China and outstanding medical care (all radiation and pathogen free!) 5831
Serious / Re: Well, Boris Johnson just destroyed our constitution in one swift blow« on: August 27, 2014, 06:13:48 PM »It's kind of funny that whenever kinder opens his mouth in Serious it turns into a full on prison grape. Serious / Re: Well, Boris Johnson just destroyed our constitution in one swift blow« on: August 27, 2014, 11:31:21 AM »
Boris isn't the only one to have done this.
Granted, the last one I know is from the 1820's when Lord Liverpool temporarily abolished the act during mass riots after the war with France, and even then that was considered oppressive... ...but still. Spoiler Also, Britain has a constitution? Serious question. 5833

The Flood / Re: Twitter« on: August 25, 2014, 05:43:01 PM »
I'm not keen on the idea.
First off, who would manage it. Then there's what content would be posted (another forum I frequent only posts game deals, but only because they have a dedicated board for it). Then as shown by your last thread regarding Twitter, barely anyone here uses it and/or thinks it's trash. we haven't really got a big base to support it. Ah well. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but that's just how I see it. 5845
The Flood / What makes you happy?« on: August 25, 2014, 01:23:29 PM »
It can be anything! Could be the comfort and love from a significant other, your favourite hobby, or simpler things, like bacon and booze (or guns, for those who have them freely available).
So, what makes you happy? Try and not make it too depressing, the last time I made this thread it ended up with sob stories, and frankly this isn't what this thread is for! 5847
