Yes. Especially when you realise none of the politcal systems are perfect and have serious drawbacks...but then again, I'd be hard pressed to find a better replacement to any of them right now, other than the odd policy change here an there.
And then it comes down to political parties (For democratic systems at least). There is not a single party that fully represents what I would stand for (Oh my! The curses of everybody being unique...), and even if there was, I seriously doubt how effective any they could be. IF they ever got elected, most of their policies would be strangled in red tape if they tried something a tad extreme, so then they're only limited to restricting and modifying policies from the last elected government, kinda like a neutral administration team for a country.
It's why we have the 3 "main" parties with maybe 1 or 2 upstarters (that would be UKIP), rather than a crazy uber-democratic system like Weimar Germany where you had extremes of both sides, then moderates, then the odd mix 'n' match parties with various standpoints, where nobody got into power because there was too much choice. Then fuck all happens which certainly isn't any better.
I'd almost go as far to say in the short-term, politics is stagnation. Only when the system fucks up, is abused, or total riot does change happen which in most cases has been positive in the long run. (See: Political Reform of the 19thC, Hitler's rise to power or any successful Revolution).

They'd probably be a boom in the entertainment and literature industry. And probably porn. And culture might gain a little bit.
Maybe stuff like community and family would be a more important and valued thing because now they'd have so much time doing fuck all.

Not enough experience to tell if it's had an impact. My last and only gf was the same height as me which tbh was nice.
Then again, the fact I've only had one gf might be an effect in itself...

I always thought Cardiff would be a pretty nice city
Sounds like you went there and saw the opposite. For a city I find it relatively quiet to most, which is appealing as otherwise my shyness and the masses of people would have kept me indoors too often.

If you want equality you could have it either way as everyone has already discussed (all or none).
But if you were to draft women as well, what role would they be best suited. Comparing a perfectly physical fit man and woman is completely unfair considering both sexes' physical limits are different with men's being higher, making their physical strength the military's "default".
In previous news that they were to allow women in frontline combat roles, they stated that the requirements for them to join would be lower. Now, regardless of the best efforts of a woman, they will be a lower standard to men in the military, and therefore not as good. This isn't being sexist, it's plain fact.
So a role for women in the military could be put to use in any situation where strength isn't absolutely neccesary, i.e. Armour, Transport, Operations/Admin/(whatever the official title is of "mission planner"), support roles, etc. whilst men continue to take the roles where strength is a priority.

I don't like either; but at some points dubstep can be acceptable.
See the MLG videos, they'd be shite if they had Death Metal instead.

I've seen myself. I'm sure that counts now.
Other people? Jesus, the unavoidable oldboys in swimming changing rooms. They don't give a fuck where they jingle jangle jingle...

It seems inevitable, but preventable. We can't have a repeat of what happened before where some (Danish?) UN troops were under equipped when one ethnic group came into a town with tanks and massacred everyone (I can't recall the name of said massacre, will update if I find it), and left the troops completely powerless.

18.
Regardless of the law, people waaaay under will drink anyway. I'd be surprised if someone's first drink was when they were legally allowed to.

Nah. The Welsh hate the Scots for having the referendum on independence.
Huh? You're thinking of the Welsh and English, as it's pretty quiet here regarding Scotland. If anything, it's made people here more supportive of Independence, or at least for more power to the Welsh Assembly.

What the fuck.
That guy didn't make his son learn (other than that his Dad is an irresponsible prick), and he seriously needs to learn about the delayed but strong effects of vodka. He probably gave him all the shots in one go which would have left him fine for about 20 minutes.
And I'm not certain on how much alcohol is depended on for social stuff in America, but that's seriously not going to help the kid later on when he's legal to drink. If my first time drinking nearly killed me, I certainly wouldn't go near the stuff, even if Britain's whole social structure revolves around it.

Tea, all the tea.
Chai, Lapsang Suchong (?) and Wu-long teas are nice.
But whatever they put in those brand ones (Tetley, PG Tips, etc) are good too.

I don't know, but if Scotland does leave the UK, they better remove the blue and put a green bar across the bottom of the Union Jack or Wales is going to throw a fit.
Like this?
Pretty much this. Maybe a red hand in the center to represent Ulster/NI, but that's what I'm expecting. Who knows, maybe Wales will have a referendum too if they don't get green on the flag.

I could see this being potentially being not as bad as it sounds.
Yes, what he responded with wasn't very professional (or very smart as a Dr.), but it seems almost like he wasn't taking her seriously in the first place. Might have been said as a bad joke.
Still, he deserves what he gets for saying it. While they probably wouldn't take away his (license to be a Doctor?), his reputation as one is going to be tarnished pretty badly.

"We spend so much money on the military, yet we're slashing education budgets across the country. No wonder we've got smart bombs and stupid fucking children.-Jon Stewart. And my personal favourite; Does he look like a bitch? What? What country you from? What ain't a country I ever heard of, do they speak English in What? ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT? I'd count it as manslaughter.
Sure, they are a fucking idiot for driving while drunk, but it doesn't ignore the fact they didn't go out to kill someone. They wanted to get home, and made a really big fucking mistake.

Both are at fault. The drunk for getting so intoxicated they are incapable of stopping something they don't want (in the case of rape or a tattoo), and the exploiter for taking advantage of said drunk's intoxication to make them do something they wouldn't do otherwise.
However, in a perfect world I should be able to get as drunk as I want without fear of being exploited, so I'd place further blame on the exploiter than a drunk.(Especially seeing as much of what the exploiters are trying to do is illegal anyway.)
EDIT: A good similarity would be exploiting a disabled person. If you exploited them, you'd be at fault, whereas a drunk person can still have some of the blame if exploited because they chose to mentally/physically impede themselves with alcohol in the first place.

Every passing day, Roy here gets more relevant: I don't understand the logic though. Old enough to create life and be allowed to continue to care for it (she has a 16 m/o baby, up until this point atm), yet is treated as a child when it comes to destroying it?

I made a GIF a few days ago. Sort of. Entitled "Carpet Ban". Spoiler Ok...I just replaced the bombs with "BAN". Still took fucking ages to replace 40 frames of bombs with it.

I tried a cigarette once. Can't say I saw why people have them personally, to me they tasted like stale, burnt bread. I can't even see why people smoke cannabis for the high, they could just as easily eat it (or the resin/oils, apparently they sell blocks of it in certain Cafés in the Netherlands) without getting the damaging smoke.
Anywho, I don't know exactly why smoking has been targeted, compared to the relatively damaging legal substances available. If we were going by the British classification of drugs (where they look at the adverse effects on your health, your social life and some other stuff like addiction rates), alcohol would be comparative to the damaging effects of Meth, Cocaine and Heroin (Class A), whereas I think things like Cannabis is Class B I think.
Then again, alcohol only damages yourself (maybe some other guy if you're a violent drunk, or a stupid one and decide to drive), but cigarettes have the potential to damage other people in the area (and I guess it accumulates if you're smoking and in a smoking place with other people...sorta like a smoking circlejerk). I know you yourself (Class) only smoke on your own, but it doesn't stop other smokers from doing it.

I'd have to agree with BC2, though BF1943's one sounds pretty damn good.
