Serious / Re: Do you think cloning humans is immoral?
« on: October 06, 2014, 09:04:03 AM »
Cloning as in making mindless bodies without any cognitive function to serve as organ donors? No.

Cloning as in making people just like you and I to harvest them for organs (i.e. The Island)? frack no.

Cloning people for shits n giggles? Haha the things I could do with 100 Kiyos....

Or the things 100 Kiyos could do with you. Remember, they all have your mind...

Gaming / Re: Your greatest gaming achievement?
« on: October 06, 2014, 08:42:08 AM »
Doing that night recon mission on Reach LASO, without killing anything. Never again.

Completed Metro LL on Ranger mode twice (once with HUD, the other without)

Also currently going through CoD WaW on Veteran on the dreaded "Blowtorch and Corkscrew" one I hear is bad, and Metro 2033 on Ranger mode.

But in general I'd say getting almost all achievements for Fallout 3 and FNV (missing out on Karma ones because I'm not going through a new character just for karma level achievements)

Depends on the use.

Wars make the death toll less to bear on people, but it's still a person being killed only instead it's Dave #569375 instead of Dave who's at home.

Science. They always say two heads are better than one...does it count if one's a cloned head of the other?

Exploration. Much like canaries in the 19th century or robots today, instead of risking "originals", just throw a clone in to check the safety of mines, melted down reactors, space missions, car crash tests, etc...

Or when you both recognize each other from far away and the silence and glancing eye contact while you both walk closer to say hello.

I'm afraid I've no idea how to draw a subspace highway.

Or the Fetus.

An Xenomorph, smoking a pipe, wearing a hat and a monocle, with an angry look on his face, doing the peace sign, sitting on a chair while casually murdering a camel with its tail, through the neck in a barbaric fashion, next to a pool in the Sahara desert.

When I get to this one, it will take some time due to the complexity, but I'll add it to the list.

Hmm. I've got 5 ideas so far and already I'm expecting none of these to be finished any time soon. Ah well, I've got time to kill. Hope you're all patient!

No one ever takes this suggestion on. . . still, here goes. .

A raptor riding a raptor riding a raptor with a laser beam attached to it's head leading a swarm of bees in a battle charge.

I will damn well try, though the raptor-ception may be a bit difficult.

A penguin, rider a tiger, dual wielding pistols, and wearing a top hat.

That...that is just what I'm looking for. I've pictured it already, and it's glorious.

Now, how would you like it? Emperor Penguin or Rockhopper, and any preference for pistols? Personally I'm going with either 1911's, Glocks or some flintlocks to go with the tophat.
Emperor penguin.
These pistols.

An excellent choice, Sir. I shall begin right away.

Also, TruTurq, I kinda need a picture of Oss (with his permission, of course...)

Serious / Re: Do you consider "Spanking" to be child abuse?
« on: October 05, 2014, 08:55:21 AM »
I don't think so, though pulling hair seems a bit OTT.

But it depends on the child if disciplining them in that way works or not. I never needed it nor received it, and I've always been generally a good person. My brother has been spanked by my Dad several times for acting out and having tantrums when he didn't get his way and broke things in anger, and despite that he's still a shit when he wants to be now that's he's grown up a little bit.

I've noticed the most creative mind is a crazed one ...and with that being said, I need The Flood's ideas and things to draw.

Give me inspiration and an image for reference, and so long as it isn't NSFW-ish I'll draw it and then post it here. It be posted on the same day as the request, maybe not even the same week, but it'll keep me entertained and you... you get a picture of a drawing by an unskilled artist. Good trade-off.

Sounds good? Good, now gimme your brain jabberings so I can draw 'em.

Gaming / Re: 78 Things Wrong in Halo: Reach
« on: October 05, 2014, 07:36:26 AM »
Huh. Never noticed them. I could see why some of the maps not being finished in the background would be left there because during a cutscene you wouldn't really be focusing on it (e.g. When Emile and N6 are in that pelican) and I suppose a minor bit like that not being there might ease up on the performance, but the helmet texture in the cutscene after is just unforgivable, that was where people were going to be focused on.

Some of his gripes though are practically invisible unless you are purposefully look for them, or find by chance (which with millions of players, it's bound to happen at some point I guess), though the continuity errors like the flipping covenant ship, the pelican being slower than two falling dudes and your broken helmet MOVING LOCATION are kinda bad.

But... I had more fun on Halo Reach than Halo 3 and MILES more than Halo 4, so sue me.

Shows how much power little Kimmy has over his party. Doesn't attend a political meeting over hurt ankles, immediately the country goes into shutdown and defect/coup mode.

Let's hope it's a coup so a lot of the uppers get wiped out, causing them to flex their muscles on South Korea, leading to North Korea's ultimate steam-rolling. That's the best realistic outcome for this 60 year standoff now.

Womb transplant? That's kind of freaky.

I thought so too.

Who knows? In the far-away future, people who undergo a sex change could actually change sex and produce children, for want of a better description. (though I guess you'd have to modify it slightly, seeing as atm you'd need ovaries. Next scientific step would be to change sperm into eggs somehow).*

I honestly don't know.

Some days I can happily get along by not talking to anyone except the bare hello's or answering a question and generally hanging around in my room.

Other times I'm the guy who can start a conversation with strangers, lead forward while everyone else slunks off, or be the life of a party.

And this is all without alcohol...enough turns me into a raving, super-social lunatic.

Serious / First baby born through womb transplant

Quote
A woman in Sweden has given birth to a baby boy using a transplanted womb, in a medical first, doctors report. The 36-year-old mother, who was born without a uterus, received a donated womb from a friend in her 60s who had gone through menopause 7 years earlier.
So yeah, that's good news, and very interesting how even a womb can still be used from a donor who's gone through menopause (though I'm not very educated on that sorta thing, so it could be normal that the womb is completely unaffected by menopause).

But...on a complete spin on the news story, discuss how while that is great that it's easier to fix infertility and allow them to have children for those who want it, that ultimately there are too many people on this planet (or not, there's always at least two sides).

So yeah...talk about this medical marvel being exactly that, and the side-discussion I've added just because.

The more we keeping pestering them, the more they will do this shit

Here's an idea: Tell the Middle-East to handle it's own damn issues
Or we could, I don't know, not leave the responsibility of stopping genocide to the most backwards, Islamic place on the planet.
And the other option would be what, continue to have the West provoke genocide?

Not that it would stop them even if we left them to it.
