Got 3 essays to do, 2 by the end of this month. I'll do 'em later...

Not much else, this day is slow.

Simply saying don't get your hopes up

Careful now.

Trademarks can be filed with false credentials, and cost a few hundred to finalise (which can take a while to check, and allows some time for the money to be actually required). The same happened last time with the last trademark shit with the elaborate "Survivor2299" hoax and even Half Life 3 rumours. There's even been "Fallout:Boston" test scripts to hire actors on supposedly a few months back.

Don't believe the hype...at least until Pete Hines confirms/denies it.

(Also, is this a good time to get Plug DJ rollin'?)

Dave is the only good candidate.

Seriously though, US presidential elections are huuuugely televised even over here to some extent and that perplexes me. Ireland doesn't get that much stuff about it's own elections in it's own country, the UK might have a few TV debates and the occasional BS statement from the party leaders about jobs or the NHS or something to do with money, and bigger countries like China or Russia have barely any news at all until "Oh yeah, Putin got elected and that Chinese guy got selected by the board".

Oh well. At least I'll know a lot about the candidates whoever they are by the time 2016 rolls around. I can't imagine how much exposure this election gets inside America.

Gaming / Re: Do you actually give meds, ammo and repairs on Battlefield?
« on: November 05, 2014, 09:16:21 AM »
Fuck yes, I make it a point to throw it down ever time I take cover in case someone behind me wants it.

Usually if I'm a medic or ammo guy I can "trade" with another teammate for their box (e.g. I throw ammo at them, they throw me health and vice versa). But some times you get the retards who only throw the box for themselves when they need it, and don't throw it for anyone else even when you have their attention. For them I resort to following them until they die, (maybe kill his attacker if they're close by) and take their kits for the ammo/health or even spawn beacon (For BF3, haven't got BF4).

It's also a great xp generator. Play Metro or any CQC map with a bottleneck or popular clusterfuck camping spot/ "defensive position", throw ammo/health down and just sit back and watch the point chain carry on endlessly. You only need to resupply someone 3 times for a ribbon, and 50 ribbons for a medal, which can be done easily by putting it next to 6 trigger-happy campers and getting on with your own business (like holding another chokepoint that the 6 retards have ignored, or capping a point).

I try to give repairs but fuck me, sometimes the tanks keep driving as if I wasn't there, so I leave them to their own graves if they are too retarded to get repaired by me. Smart tankers have moved slowly with me behind so we punch through lines with ease while I keep their tank running smoothly.

Gaming / Re: But IS it actually shit?
« on: November 05, 2014, 06:13:21 AM »
Yes. The only people buying it now are people starting late in the series and may have only heard of CoD4 when it was fantastic, but now it's same-old-same-old. I stopped buying them after Black Ops, and since then I get my mindless violence kicks elsewhere which I find better.

I mean c'mon, they added realistic looking gore for W@W, then removed it, then modified it to shortlived meatball blood splatters. I can get better from GoW (which has argueably declined since 3) and GTA which has a lot more of everything, and now includes a first person mode. If I want something a tad less headless and rushy I can play Battlefield, (though 4 and Hardline have really let the series down, 3 was the catalyst) which actually has vehicles and is debateably better.

There's always a chance of victory, just look at Ireland. It only took 800 years, and only 148 after Britain "United" with Ireland in 1800.

So yeah, guerrilla warfare would be the way to go. With nowhere else to go and nothing else to lose, I'd more than likely choose that.

A sock puppet ran for PM in Canada, a goat ran for a local election in New Zealend, a turkey sock puppet ran for president of Ireland, a cat ran for mayor of a town in Nova-Scotia, a dog was a candidate in french municipal elections, a cat ran for mayor in a city in Mexico, and a fire hydrant came within 6 votes of being elected to the board of governors in Canada.

You forgot this guy:

Yes, but that's FantasyLand America for you.

OT The Lib-Dems aren't exactly terrible with their policies, most I generally agree with. It's just with the current coalition I see barely anything being done as a result of him coming into semi-power, it's mostly the Conservatives paving the way for things and getting the glory and hate, with Clegg getting the shit because he's doing nothing and is powerless to do anything about it.

But of the 3 main parties, Lib Dems is still the one I'd vote for (or the Green Party, despite their hating of Nuclear Power)

The Flood / Re: Why haven't you had kids yet?
« on: November 04, 2014, 03:00:32 PM »
Uh, because I'm 18 and only have just barely started my own life semi-independently?

It would just be plain irresponsible of me (and this fictitious partner of mine I'd have had to had the baby with) at this age when I got looooaaads of other stuff to do and figure out first.

When I'm 30+, I'll consider it, at the very earliest my late 20's. Kids can be shits and I am no way capable of talking care of one adequately when I've only just about nailed down my own care for the time being.

But lol at the projectile-shit baby. It's funny that some people think that having kids is the be-all and end-all of things in developed western society these days (No offence to any here, keep the human race going and all that, but there's kinda a lot as it is and we don't need kids to sustain us into old age like the developing countries and 1800's Britain did).

0 if we're going by that binary rating... it's not being taken up very well.

But if you seriously want my judgement, the face/makeup and costume ain't doing her any favours.

I tend to note those with standard Bungie avatars (inc custom emblems) seem more serious e.g. Risay/Mr. Psycho/Deci/Zizzy, although Camnator throws this off quite a bit.
But why not me?

What the hell is "medical" cannabis?

I'm for the legalisation of all of it, even harder drugs so long as they had some sort of regulating authority.

I've kept with a general theme (though Mr Pink and is quote is just a general "ITT" observation) of thoughtful people (Khan, the Russian Metro Hippy and Mark the social worker in a crazy mythical New York).

Hashish was used quite heavily by the Shia Muslim sect called the Hassassins when they went on their assassination projects.

I swear I've heard this from Eddie Izzard...thing is he's a comedian, not a historian.
No this is actual historical fact and can be read in wikipedia. Hell it is why they got the name hassassins.

I would just add, it's not just a wikipedia fact <.<

It is documented in various history texts and the like. Although it was my understanding that Hashish was made from opiates and not Cannabis.

EDIT - Turns out I was wrong, it is derived from cannabis.

Well shit, that's just even more amazing.
