It's tricky, believe me I've tried against a bearded dragon - lost many times. 5074

This is good, keep it up.
EDIT: After listening to it all, you should have a definite intro and endtro. I left the podcast running in the background and was waiting for a little if there was anything more. 5075

Not too deep into politics to know who I truly disagree with or respect tbh.
People on here though, I respect some people's arguments for their points differing to mine. 5076

Well, what would you expect.
And to be fair, he WAS restrained in his retaliation. He coulda outright knocked her the fuck out if he closed his palm on that woman. The *SMACK* is clear to be heard that he slapped with the intention of her to fuck off, not break her face. 5077

Graham Linehan is certainly liking it:

The Flood / Re: how close are you with your family?« on: November 20, 2014, 10:46:32 AM »
Pretty close. I talk to my parents maybe once a week or so, and my brother every time I happen to cath him online when I'm playing games.
It's kinda ironic but I've gotten more close to my Dad since my parents divorced. Before I wouldn't see or interact with him as much as I do now. Sort of a silver lining. 5084
Serious / Re: Piracy« on: November 20, 2014, 05:59:36 AM »
There was a study a while ago saying that those who pirated heavily already buy tons of digital/ entertainment products far more than the average person. Now, that doesn't mean it's totally justifiable to do, of course, but I thought I'd throw that in there.
Also, where did the 12.5 billion revenue lost figure come from? I hope they took into account that if it wasn't available online, I doubt everybody who pirated things would just buy it instead. I've pirated a lot of things, but in fairness a large quantity of these I then went out and bought legally after. I've pirated music, got interested in the artist and then resulted in me buying their albums. I've pirated games (mostly to test them on my shitty laptop), and then bought them because I know they can run well, and I get more features that the pirated version has restricted. Now I won't justify my actions any further than this. By definition, I am a criminal. 5085

Serious / Re: Give me a good reason to make military impersonation a felony« on: November 19, 2014, 05:04:45 PM »While that's mostly true, I don't see why simply wearing it should be a felony. Abusing your perceived power while wearing the uniform - sure. Oh sure of course, just wearing a uniform doesn't justify arresting them or making it a crime...but that's just wearing it. I could easily buy some green combats and other army surplus (Helmets, camo gear, pretty much hand-me-downs from the army of the 50's to maybe the 80's) right now if I wanted to as it's not a crime. But OP said impersonation. Dressing up as a military man, then grabbing a gun and "playing army" I would consider worthy of arresting them. 5088
Serious / Re: Give me a good reason to make military impersonation a felony« on: November 19, 2014, 04:56:19 PM »Oh I'm sure looking the part would help you if you had the motive. Same as having a fluorescent orange jacket means unlimited power to the average person in most places, or having white lab coat can make you a scientist.Well, trespassing for one. Pretending to be in the military grants you access to bases (though I'd hope MP's or whoever guards the entrance actually check ID's...).But we're not talking about gaining access to military bases. We're talking about wearing a military uniform. I bunch it together with impersonating a police officer, or anything that has authority. If you're going to impersonate them there is most likely a nefarious reason behind it. 5089

Well, trespassing for one. Pretending to be in the military grants you access to bases (though I'd hope MP's or whoever guards the entrance actually check ID's...).
Then from trespassing, theft. Assuming you were able to get into a base, you could always help yourself to some fancy military hardware. 5092

The Flood / Re: Biggest mistake you've ever made?« on: November 19, 2014, 04:24:08 PM »
Mis-hearing someone.
Thought I heard someone say "Jeremy Kyle (Kinda like Dr Phil for Bongs I think...) got cancelled", and naturally I replied: And then it went quiet in the class very quickly while this person just stared at me like I was a psycho, and I said "What? His show is terrible, it's good it won't be on anymore." Took a full fucking week until I found out she'd said "Jeremy Kyle got cancer"...queue my immediate apology to said girl. Another one, a lot less funny and far more depressing is fucking it up with my (so far) only girlfriend. Still friends, but it's not the same anymore and that just makes it worse. 5094

Serious / Re: Could non-consensual human experimentation ever be justified?« on: November 18, 2014, 06:24:46 PM »
I suppose when it's for the greater good -"The greater good"-, then it can be justifiable to an extent.
However I fail to see how injecting radioactive isotopes into pregnant women even if it were consensual has any scientific value, at all. Also, the artificial blood replacement should have been consensual, and subjects notified of the potential risks. These examples are just bad science. If these scientific experiments relied on not telling them it was a test (though you could always test false positives with placebos like normal tests do...) and were virtually impossible to cause psychological or physical damage to the subject, and that the test is explained to them afterwards, then unconsensual tests should be considered ok, though erring on the gray of morality. 5097

US College? UK Uni then.
Bsc Geology in Cardiff. Doing it because I like understanding Physical, "Earthy" stuff as it isn't all about rocks thank god, and in Cardiff because it has a good reputation among UK universities as being a good one (It's in something called the Russell Group, which is a small group of elite universities in the UK...I can't remember what for, research or something). It's also not too close and not too far away from where I live, so I'm far enough that it's "new" but close enough to come back home for the weekends if I can or want to. 5100

With all due respect, why would you openly disclose such information?
I know you have a right to do what you want with said information and being open about it to the right people certainly helps, but no matter what psychological or physical state I was in I wouldn't be so forthwith with that info, let alone making it freely availables to the likes of us. Spoiler I suppose it might come down to your impulsiveness as you mentioned, but fuck what do I know, I'm not a psychologist |
