Serious / Re: How would you answer this moral problem?
« on: December 05, 2014, 02:12:22 PM »
It isn't a Utopia. Assuming this situation has been running for a long time, it doesn't seem like they've tried to address and solve the problem of this child.

If taking care of the kid results in average-ness overall, I'd rather have that than live in a "Utopia" of selfishness or leave and live with the constant guilt that I did nothing to change the situation there.

I know I'm really ill when I start trying to lie in bed in un-natural positions.

Usually I force myself out of bed to get a wet flannel, place it upon my head and lie down and try to sleep while my head-pain is numbed from the cold.

Watching the Orion livestream, then later going shopping for a lime and some bacon. Might drop by the library to get some sources for an essay due after Christmas.

How is it that you have never heard of System? I'd say nearly everyone in the world knows about this band. At least everyone that's as young as me and even younger.

*shrugs*

May have heard of their stuff, but I don't remember, know, or associate them with anything. I do that a lot with individual songs compared to listening to an album I like.

I'll make an account if I'm allowed to play some System of a down on there at the very minimum.

Dunno what that is, but if it's music, yes.

......All hope is lost.

Relax, you're talking to one of the most musically inept people here. Outside of the artists I like, I don't remember or know many bands/singers.

A new phone.

That's it. Maybe a Fallout hoodie, and some socks.
iPhone 6 is pretty nice. I might actually ask for some new clothes too.

Nah, that's waaaaay outta my price range, plus I'm generally unaccustomed to iphone stuff.

late into the BF3's life cycle, all the maps were spawn campy bullshit regardless of what side you were on.

... its a CQB map, of course there is going to be bitches dying everywhere.

Oh god the DLC's were worse ('cept Armoured Kill, to be fair...though the constant AC130 was quite troublesome)

The problem I have with Metro and the CQ DLC in it's entirety is that it's kinda outta the scope of Battlefield. A game with large scale maps and vehicles to suddenly squashed tiny maps that were badly designed.

Bleurgh.

I wasn't trying to make fun of Death in general.

I'm just saying we forget how fragile life really is and we should enjoy our lives as much as we can since we were given that chance to exist in the first place.

Never said you were. It just you have a similar mentality (although with a far more optimistic spin) to the priest.

Serious / Re: How much money do you think we spend on the elderly?
« on: December 04, 2014, 05:09:31 PM »
While it is a rather radical approach, I kinda agree with it.

But what age would be the cut-off point, where you'd have to pay for treatment yourself? How would you go about making it fairer (as obviously this system is a tad biased to the rich elderly compared to the poor)?

I'm very confused as to how this story line is continuing, but meh, I can't complain about another Terminator film seeing as Salvation was really good imo.

i actually liked Metro...
then again i was a shotgunner so CQB was best for me.
that hallway is a fucking meat grinder though. claymores, LMGs, motion sensors and you're fucked. back staircase, run straight for A. pulls team away from hallway, spawn trap eminent.
Spoiler

I enjoy Metro sometimes, but only for some brain shut-off after playing the other, far better maps. Metro is when I want points to rack up and to have a CoD match in a BF game.

But it's bad enough that you can spawncamp both spawns of the map if you push the other team far back enough. From memory, here's all the chokepoints/bottlenecks and general "If you're here you're either killing or dying":

As you can see, it's virtually fucking everywhere.

Gaming / Re: So this is what modern Battlefield fans are into

It's the shitty map design that leads to Metro being like it is. It's all CQC and there's never any way to go but directly straight towards the next flag and with no flanking routes, it just turns into that video at B flag.

Metro is passable with 12 v 12, but anything else just becomes a clusterfuck

I wouldn't even say it's passable as 12v12, it's frankly a piss-poor map. Linear, with bottlenecks on either side of each flag.

But essentially the whole FPS genre (for consoles, at least) has turned into this:

Either drawing or usually getting down and doing whatever it was that is stressing me in the first place. I'm not great with stress.

I always have electricity, food (in general; I'll run out of milk but I still have cereal lying around), and clothes. I've also always had money; even if at one point it was only £5 in my pocket.

Other then material stuff, I've always had my humour and my irish accent. Sorta.
You lost your accent at one point?

Not yet, but not being in-country for some time now (nearly 9 years) has developed my accent from a "Kerry-Irish" accent to a more Welsh one.
In-country?

I'm referring to Ireland.
Spoiler
Not Vietnam...
So you haven't left Ireland but your irish accent has changed?
No, I haven't been in Ireland for 8 years, I'm losing my accent slowly.

Ahh, it's good to be alive. The 2nd Space Race is picking up pace, and if I'm lucky and I actually finish my Geology degree and get into space-stuff, I could be researching all the lovely Mars rocks coming back... or even be there, if I'm very particularly blessed.

Serious / Re: Foetal Alcohol Syndrome case dismissed by the court of appeal
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:10:02 PM »
Shit, I thought it already was criminal to do such a thing. That's horrific.

I don't think it should be criminal for pregnant woman to be necessarily in trouble for being ignorant to an extent - I didn't know unpasteurized cheese or a hard boiled egg is damaging to a foetus, but it's kinda common sense for drinks seeing as alcohol is a fucking poison, and has warning labels pasted all over them.

I'd go as far as saying that if you intend to drink while pregnant, especially such a fucking ridiculous amount as this woman did, then you may as well just abort the poor thing. Hereditary diseases/conditions are one thing, but purposefully fucking up your offspring in that way is disgusting.

Bah, I'm pissed off now, not even gif-worthy.

What's something you genuinely like or dislike about the world?

So much bullshit and not enough time for me to be on it (the world, not the bullshi- you know what, never mind)

One thing I like about the world is the shape, particularly the landmass. It's just iconic.

Oh, and Mango Juice. Sweet tasting AND healthy?!
