Getting pissed at a friend's house party.

Should be a good night, getting to see old friends.

We talk every few months or so, but it's never that sort of talking.

Serious / Re: Divorce
« on: December 30, 2014, 07:52:58 PM »
You can't force love.

I think divorce should be acceptable, but marriages shouldn't be rushed into and culturally should be held to a higher value and be a bigger "thing" than today.

That way there isn't as much problems compared to when people are marrying 3 months after meeting.

Migrants?

I had some new experiences, and I will learn from the mistakes.

Serious / Re: What's your beef with the transgender crowd?
« on: December 30, 2014, 12:23:21 PM »
I don't have beef with transgender people, at least for their gender. (Assholes can still be assholes, regardless of age, race, faith, gender or disability)

I default apply everyone here as a "he" unless they either say they are a girl or want to be addressed as one.

But it would be nice if I was allowed to ask how a trans person would like to be addressed, rather than say gender-neutral word ("they" instead of "he"/"she"), and bypass offending them.

Sorta.

It just seems the traditional thing to do even as an atheist, though I have no actual "plans" for it.

If you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you go?

(Ignoring language barriers and any other "life" shit in the way)

The Flood / Re: What users would you hang out with in real life?
« on: December 28, 2014, 08:26:14 PM »
Well, there'should no-one here who I wouldn't want to hang out with...

I'm not trying to take neutral stance; honestly I think it would be cool to hang out with all of you and then see what I think from then onwards.

I average about 1.5 on most games. 2 for Gears of War 3

I wouldn't recommend it.

Nearly killed my mum and myself with a complicated birth.

More recently I got electricuted after turning on a wet lightswitch. Safe to say, I envy the US' inefficient yet safer voltage output after that.

Wasn't going to kill me but I accidentally shoved a pitchfork into my foot. Luckily I didn't hit anything.

Meta, Psy and Turkey, for generally everything.

Then everybody else  (myself inc.) for various goings-on in the Middle East.

If yes, I would partake in some, and invite you to join me.

Came out of the toilet. Forgot to pull my pants up.

Fortunately this was when I was in early primary school, and doubly fortunate that only one person was there to witness my humility.

The Amulet of Luck.

« on: December 27, 2014, 07:01:00 PM »
"You cunty fuck"
"You stupid bastard"

I use the latter on most days, the first when it's really deserved, e.g. stealing my beer.

Plus you can't possibly know what her wishes were just from the fact that she was pregnant for 18 weeks.
I'm not claiming to know, I'm claiming it's safe to assume that four months of development is a decent sign she probably wanted to keep it.

I should probably add she already has 2 other children, so this kinda sides with her wanting children.

Also, the family will probably have to take care of these other children regardless (no mention of the father in the article, a bit odd)

Brain-dead pregnant woman 'can die' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30599063
TLDR Braindead pregnant lady, 18 weeks in. Families wishes are to turn off the life support, while lawyers for the unborn child (debate about "when is a life a life" aside) argue it should be kept on if there's a chance the foetus will survive the term, then she should be kept alive.

So, what would you argue for?

Personally, I'd side with keeping her alive until the child is born, unless it's impossible  for that to happen (Even a 1% chance is worth it). But I'm happy to hear if someone can back up the alternative.

News / Re: Polling on Moderation Style for Sep7agon.Net
« on: December 26, 2014, 04:07:22 PM »
Hybrid system, with lax on shitposting but strict on spam.

The argument that being strict on this will reduce activity is flawed. Clearly if the majority of activity is spam/shitposting, it's a problem that lies with the posting community, not the moderation procedures.

And if 17000 Arabs began protesting* the westernisation of the East I'might sure we'd be up in arms.

*peacefully...
Westernisation is qualitatively different to Islamification.

Agreed, though the last time there was a "Christianisation" it was the crusades.

This Islamicication process though vocal has been relatively peaceful.
