>Best food
>British Lol. More seriously, Britain by far is the best for roasts. Pig, Beef, Lamb, they got it all. English breakfast is just a lesser Irish one, so don't bother. And if you don't care about your long term health, pork pies and pastries are supreme here. I'd gladly choose a custard slice over belgian chocolate anyday. 4444

S4 Mini pocket tissues Keys When going to a party I also bring a pack of cards and a swiss army knife. For fieldwork I bring my rucksack full of pens and paper, and a compass-clinometer. 4446

Serious / Re: How bad does life have to get« on: February 03, 2015, 06:02:09 PM »
I don't know. Pretty unimaginably bad I'd reckon, seeing as I and many others gladly go about happy and reproduce with the knowledge that a lot of what you mentioned already happens daily.
I still don't really understand the whole thing, but I guess it's because I have a more optimistic thought on the future that eventually suffering won't exist. I know it is impossible now, but the future or far future is completely unknown so I suppose I bank on that. That or it's the general feeling of hope, even when the situation is futile. Spoiler I have a feeling this may not make complete sense or convey my thoughts more accurately... pardon my lack of sleep. 4448

I agree with gootsby that it's misleading - sure, it has attributes from a 3rd party, but it is the basic blocks so that the child can survive.
It'll hardly change a child with white parents black if the mitochndria is from a black person, nor any mental state-change either. Regardless of what they call it though, this is good news. One less problem to worry about. 4451

Gaming / Re: What do you think of this statement?« on: February 02, 2015, 05:08:38 AM »
If it's multiplayer only, I expect long lasting support (almost on par with those MMO's).
If it's singleplayer only, I expect a full story. Skyrim/RPGs need that at least. Combos are troublesome, usually because they haven't enough funding or resources to cover both bases perfectly, although coop story modes ALA Borderlands are good compromises if they focus on story more than multiplayer. 4458

I disagree with their energy plans, totally unrealistic.
Plans to remove all Nuclear Power plants and cover the 20% loss in national energy supply with renewables is outlandish at best given that everyone's a NIMBY and doesn't want a wind farm near them. Then you realise you need 50,000 wind turbines to cover 6 nuclear reactors, and that we need more energy capacity and generation to replace coal fired power stations also (which is the majority supplier for the UK at around 36%). In other words: Hahahahahaha No. 4460

Serious / Re: Male genes can be traced back to Y-chromosomal Adam over 208,300 year ago« on: February 02, 2015, 01:59:10 AM »
Thats how science works. Propose a hypothesis to predict the outcome and if it's right (with evidence), it's a theory. Then you get counter-theories that explain a process better or replace it entirely. The theory for atoms has changed many times since the first model for example, but it brings us closer to what is the "true" model. As for the time paradox, think Philip J Fry of Futurama. If he didn't have sex with his grandmother, he wouldn't exist. Only difference here is that the paradox is occuring over thousands of generations rather than just 1. 4462

Serious / Re: FCC Sets a New, Faster Definition for Broadband« on: January 29, 2015, 06:45:53 PM »
I'm not sure what that would do.
The ISP's won't improve infrastructure, rename their broadband as cable or some nonsense, and charge extortionately for FCC defined broadband if they supply it at all. That is, unless they've introduced some sort of cap on how much ISP's can charge for sub-broadband speeds. (I haven't really been following this too much, so pardon me if I'm getting this wrong or my assumptions outlandish). 4468

The Flood / Re: Moving to dorms for university vs staying at home« on: January 29, 2015, 06:18:55 PM »
A house or Uni Halls?
Halls are good to make a lot of friends, but depending on on thevpeople and the location they can be bad (Cardiff Uni halls are a bus trip away from the main campus for example), while in my case Uni-owned houses are cheaper and closer to the Uni (I can see the Uni from my house, 5 minute walk to virtually everywhere). But if you live close to where your going anyway it makes sense to stay. I know a few people who have stayed at home for their accomodation at Uni and they're saving far more grant/loans for more important things, like beer. |
