Are we really going to be that pissy about funposting and memes in a thread no one here really cares about?
It's not the content of the post that I care about, it's the derailment. If me and Raptorx7 suddenly got into a discussion about tanks and wars in this thread, I'd expect the same response from people who were interested in the OP.

Hey give us an animu board and we'll hang out there. The thread was dead with 0 responses before it got weeb'd on. Which I basically asked for. You wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Personally I don't really care if people don't like the memes.
Woah now, ease back a little. Why a board when a simple "Official Weeb-Banter Thread" would do it just fine?

I realized, i can use magic to make bars, so if i had the nature runes i could make your iron ore into bars without failing a single one.
Doesn't that cost a bunch though?
For the runes I mean
Wizards and Giants drop em. But buying em would cost a lot yeah.
Not to mention the magic training you'd need to use the spell in the first place.

Looks interesting, though it reminds me far too much of Bioshock with the masks and idealistic 50's theme. Hell, even the art direction looks pretty similar to me. I'll hold my pessimism for now though, and wait 'til I hear more from it. Spoiler Also, can the Japanese stuff not related keep to it's own fucking thread somewhere?

I'd rather cry in my mansion or ferrari than a public bus and my shitty apartment.
That said, I don't resent rich people for their wealth (unless it was gained illegally/immorally), they largely had to work for themselves to get there.
I mean, I could research the stock market and have a go...

Seeing as the political race is about to start in the US, and the UK's is in full swing...
Which party would you vote for (US/UK), and why?

PS1 with a combo game - Wipeout 3 with Destruction Derby... 2 I think? Best.Fucking.Games.Ever. Even after I had a PS2 I'd occasionally come back to play that glorious pixelated game. YOU CAN ALMOST BREATHE THE PIXELS: (And for some reason, my Wipeout 3 came in Japanese...I had to guess what the menus were to play a race)

That sounds like a smart thing to do.
And in regards to your freedoms... you have the freedom to refuse it, just as much as the government has the freedom to deny you from infecting everybody else, by removing you/your child from their establishments, seems fair enough to me.

Ironmen?
That thing I was until yesterday. As an Ironman, you get a little iron helmet symbol next to your name (very much a nuisance as everyone fucking asks what is it) and some free armour (better than steel, with no requirements to wear), at the cost of either being unable to trade with anything except the general shops, or the hardcore version which meant no banking allowed whatsoever. Who the fuck would do that, you ask? <.< >.> Well...me. Didn't think I traded much until I forget it included the GE. Fuuuuuck. Thankfully you can revert it to normal status, but waiting a week for that to happen's a bitch. Worth noting is that it doesn't bypass the trade timelimit, so now that I'm not one of those anymore, I'm stuck waiting 7 hours.

Commodities going down is probably due to the impressive number of bots in the game, as came with the release of f2p.
-Iron Ore is constantly powermined/banked for it's low level availability (15 mining, and virtually everywhere, particularly near banks) -Oak logs, with it's use for planks (profit), xp at low levels (15 wc) and proximity of certain areas to a bank (e.g. Draynor)
I predict that with the 24hr trade limits and the invention of Ironmen, lower-level items will also decline in demand (pretty much anything Iron equipment or below), while harder to acquire items should go on the rise as bots focus on lesser ores to mine, leaving less inputs of mithril and adamant. Not sure about Yews or other higher level items as I haven't dabbled much (atm I'm mining the shit outta everything).
And something totally unrelated, is that fisher on Karamja Island there to turn items into notes? He was a great asset when you could catch swordfish or lobsters and save teleporting or taking the boat back to bank them for selling later.

But they lowered the skill gap immensely by adding in starting weapons that take no skill to use while still out preforming the ones that do which basically thew the competitive aspect of the game into the garbage bin.
The Retro Lancer and Sawed-Off? I can completely agree on that, as can most Gears fans. I am pretty sure those will not be returning, and if they do, not as starting weapons. I always use the Hammerburst and the Gnasher.
But dat recoil tho. I would love it to return with some modifications (e.g. adding recoil every random bullet or lowering damage during burst fire to stop me from killing dudes at ranges of the Hammerburst). As for the bayonet I think they got that spot on.

Sigh. What are they doing? Don't they realize that resorting to such violence is literally plunging them back to the middle ages. That's all they want to do-- destroy, rape, and pillage meanwhile calling it an exploit for some twisted god who is pleased by such destruction and violence?
Probably they don't, the grunts probably don't either. Perhaps, they are all in their heads into smashing, killing and destroying until they either are happy with having little to destroy, or being broken and mutilated from the retaliation they have been tempting.
Maybe that's what they want. Just to die, and take the whole world with them into hell.
IMO, that's a good thing. If they have little care for history they will barely leave a mark come the next few decades, let alone hold a caphiliate for eternity. That, coupled with their medieval values towards women and education (you can't brainwash recruit without limiting that), it just leads to a group who, if iintervention does nothing will eventually destroy themselves.

I think it would be better if they toned it down a bit, real laughter or not.
That said, Father Ted and The IT Crowd have it and it's barely as noticeable (nor brings a seething hatred of it) for me.

Finishing my first year in Geology with some decent scores, and sorting out accommodation for next year. After that, smooth sailing for 2-3 months and then back into it starting with a trip to Scotland to look at more rocks.

Found this on a site rather critical of the gaming industry, and this video surrounding The Order 1886 came up. As I haven't played the game or followed much of the info spreading around it myself, I can't comment on it... ...but goddamn this guy's laugh. But for discussion for those of you who have it, what do you think of it? Although it's a joke, could this video apply to most Triple-A game devs of today in regards to the quality of games, the mass-production of (some occasionally useless) DLC's, and other potentially underhand business tactics? I for one agree. Apart from RPG's like Skyrim which rely on the singlelayer only, most games today have a very short campaign and rely solely on the multiplayer side of things, which in turn needs constant additions to keep the playerbase happy and playing (and paying). That means in some cases useless aesthetics like camo packs for guns (See Gears of War 3, the more recent CoD's, as well as BF3/4's Premium Camos and Battlepacks). Some go even further and delve into the campaign, sectioning chunks out behind a paywall (Mass Effect 3, I believe?), limiting campaign difficulties and weapons to Limited Edition versions or adding them as mini DLC's (Metro Last Light), or even adding microtransactions for basic campaign equipment like ammo and upgrade slots (Dead Space 3 had those initially, though I'm not sure now). This is a dire time for video games, with Devs giving less of a shit about your enjoyment or how long the game will last and more about whether you'll buy that golden digital camo for your gun or horse armour, or if any customers would notice DLC being made before the game is finished. That said, there is hope in indie games or smaller lesser known devs who rely on the quality of the game to survive, but that brings their own problems like many of the kickstarter-based games have (where many have accrued tens of thousands of £/$'s only to drop off the radar and the dev suddenly disappear to South America).

One thing I keep reading here is "be confident". Well how the fuck do I do that?!
Tbh, if you have an interest that has led you here, (pc shit, games and whatever), stick to it. Being confident about shit you have interest in and talking about it to an extent will find you someone with similar interests naturally, and conversation will flow from it.
Hiding it by being falsely interested in "normal" things, will either get you caught out if a relationship went further, or you stuck with someone who you only like for their body, which is just fucking shallow.
That said, presentability and not being an arsehole go a long way.

Cheers for the elaboration, never really understood what suddenly started it off since I always thought the gaming side of journalism was iffy. This is more the fault of the publishers than that of the journos.
While that is true, there's a part to play for the reviewers. They should be in a staunch position against what is essentially bribery, rather than just lapping up the goodies and spouting bullshit about a game.

What does this remind me of? Oh yeah.A customer in German art shop chooses a portrait of Hitler for a special Christmas gift. It was common for German family to have a portrait of the Führer prominently displayed in the home. His stern expression served as a constant and emotional reminder of where their loyalties must go. Not to equate Putin to Hitler, but there's certainly that level of support for him. Interesting.

Any sort of notification system brings a small bump in happiness.
Notifications, E-Mail, even the fucking Windows PC Issues thing peaks my interest. Physical mail is the best though, with exception to flyers and junk mail.

Does every kind of scandal need a "gate" at the end of it? Spygate Deflategate Gamergate We get it, watergate happened. Shut up already.
Exactly. And the place was called Watergate. Not watergate-gate. and It wasn't named water. Its stupid how they add gate on everything these days.
Relevant: But in regards to the OP, I constantly forget which side is which. I understand it was originally to do with ethics in journalism regarding video games (and later got moulded into a sexist debate to dodge the bullet), so is this good news or what? Even if this is good for video game journalism, I still think it has a long way to go. It's nearly been 2 years since DICE was found to be using incentives with popular reviewers to make BF4 seem better than the reality, and although they aren't strictly "journalists", reviewers have far too much influential power in the industry to be ignored too.
