Statistics for Serious board.
If the current growth rate of -7% were maintained until the end of the year, the amount of posts made in Serious would be 102 posts.
Damn, Meta & Turkey need to up their game.

Woah, how did activity almost half between January and March?
That said, this only counts threads. Optimism hopes that maybe the post per thread was still consistent, or higher.

The ones by Louis Theroux are pretty interesting although usually based about something crazy in America.

I hear that Sonic '06 was apparently the worst game ever...
If these are diehard fans, a post saying it was the greatest/shittiest game ever should get people riled up into some sort of argument.

After learning about the known locations of Kimmeridge Clay in the UK for my course, I'm not all that surprised.
What should be interesting is now that they've announced it, there must be some plans already in place for exploitation...but how close to one of the biggest airports in the UK?
Also with the current low prices of oil, is it even worth taking it out of the ground yet? Better to wait a while (a decade or so) so prices go up, and extraction becomes far more viable than now.
Still, nice for the UK to have some form of energy/financial security for the future for when the North Sea oil runs out soon.

Not exactly jihadist, but the IRA and IRB have been around for territory/religious reasons since the 1900's, and have done some bombing campaigns and turning police officers into disappearing acts.
Interesting fact from Wikipedia, Gadafi gave them a bunch of AK's around the 80's, and got a bit of support from the Nazis too in the form of MP40's.

Lol that's ridiculous.
With a subscription service I'm supporting everyone who relies on the ads, many of which I don't watch nor support.
At least with Adblock I can selectively choose who I do and don't support, as well as it extending further than just youtube (this website being an example ).
And a large portion of what you pay will just go to Google anyway.
*sips tea*
That makes this a straight out retarded idea then. At I control what ad revenue I want to give and where. *gulps coffee*

I could see why some might go against it as they don't have children attending these schools, or don't even have children (which from either of those excuses is rather selfish), but I can't see anything too wrong with this proposal.

Well for a start, PIGS will turn into PIS, which is a terrible abbreviation.
And also, if G was (as it inevitably is) the first to fall, S should follow suit judging by how a Spanish friend described the circumstances before he left. Unsure about P, but I'd assume in similar problems as S.
As for I, we're being hailed as a great example of a struggling EU country doing a U-turn after the economic collapse, by essentially being bent over a barrel and taking it. Nothing will change from my end much, far as I can tell.

He created a table of contents and a 2 hour DVD for his 270 page suicide note.
I know I really shouldn't be judging the poor guy and I apologise ahead for this, but fuck me, was his life really that bad? Some have a short note or tell someone briefly and it's pretty explanatory.
Nothing wrong with taking a crack at a best seller and award winning film before you go.
Oh the irony of success after death, going out Van-Gogh style.

Ew. The nuclear and gmo fear mongering doesn't help either. (well, that's a green thing over here)
They lost my support on that, it's just not practical. Not to mention how a tad too optimistic they are for fixing some problems.

No idea what you are talking about specifically, but I like the video.
Moral, don't get angry, don't spread germs. People need to take a break from the Serious board.

Last time I went back to my little village where I was born, there was this house totally vandalized with "OUT SCUM" spray painted everywhere. Not sure of the context, but I thought where I lived was quiet and rather peaceful.
Oh, and on my leaving party in Ireland a few days before I moved away, the IRA dropped by and "asked" for my Dad to "lend" them a spare tyre for their car, and of course my Dad obliged at the influence of the man asking openly carrying a pistol. Thankfully the party was in the back garden so no-one really saw much of it and they didn't intrude, but I remember seeing it happen from inside the house. Was kinda fucked up, now that I think on it more.
Around by Caerphilly at the same time I was doing a fieldtrip a few months ago, there was a cannibal roaming around the hills after trying to evade the police. Didn't hear about that until a few weeks AFTER we'd gone there in the news.
EDIT: Oh! Sandtrap has reminded me of another; History teacher is *now* a convicted pedophile due to undisclosed events that happened to someone in the year above me at the time. Odd that I should forget that.

No. We've tried making them appear human, and we have used a lot of machines and AI to replace or even do better than a human can at a certain task, but they aren't alive. Think of that recent study into (worms?), where all the nerves were researched and programmed into a worm-resembling machine body. It replicated the worm very well, but that's because we programmed it to copy an actual living creature. EDIT: Found the worm thingUntil we advance technology and AI's begin totally independent thought, behavior, to the point that they can evolve themselves and "survive" independently, than I doubt I will consider them alive. With that said, I don't dismiss AI; I find what they can do currently amazing as it is.
