The Flood / Re: Sleep schedule
« on: April 24, 2015, 02:06:14 PM »
I have a terrible natural sleep cycle - If I haven't got lectures or anything that needs me at 9am, I'll wake up between 11am - 1pm and stay awake for as late as 3am.

I put this down to staying up for a late night on Plug.DJ or catching up on some TV series which then starts this late wake/sleep cycle perpetually. Once I have lectures to go to or something important to do, I'll get up for that time (usually 7am, alarm assisted) and then try and stay awake to at least 12am, which eventually the lack of sleep builds up and I might nap for a few hours on the weekend which can mess the cycle up a bit.

For example, right now I've just woken up from a 4 hour sleep (4-8pm) after doing a fieldwork course that kept me awake from 7am - 1am for a week.

That of the total of Earth's life (about 4.5 Ga - Billion years), evidence for life on Earth only goes back around ~500Ma (with some contentious journals suggesting 800Ma for a single celled organism).

...juuust over 10% of Earth's history has life been around, and don't even make me get the decimal places out for hominids in total.

Rehabilitory imprisonment with a possibility of an indefinite sentence, similar to that Norwegian guy.

But then again, America really isn't into that rehab thing, so life imprisonment is prefferable in reality.

Does From Dusk 'til Dawn count?

I mean it's a crappy horror film, but it had George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino in it somehow.

And this fucking guy

I try not to, more so since they split up.

Oddly enough, I spend more time with my parents now independently than I did when they were under the same roof together. Huh.

I would actually mention you're a mod for a popular website (NEVER MENTION THE ACTUAL PLACE THOUGH, FOR GOD'S SAKE!).

Shows responsibility, able to talk to a variety of arseholes people and ability to diffuse somewhat tight situations.

E.g. Some crazy shopper verbally abusing you because of the price of Tetley Tea or something, when you have literally fuck-all to do with the pricing.

I wonder what will happen to the balance of power/religion over there if the Houthi's take full control and are recognised as such. There's just so many sects and ethnicities there that makes it very confusing and kinda hard to follow what's going on in the Middle East currently...hell, all the time tbh.

It always seems like this there:

The Flood / Re: 10/10 albums
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:10:06 AM »

My parents bought this a few months after I was born, and I still think it's one his best albums. That could be just bias due to listening to it for virtually all of my life though, but eh, if I haven't tired of it after 17-18 years than it has to be doing something right that I like.

tr sargent. My GT was like that for years because I cba'd paying £8 for a name change.

Yep, I mis-spelled Sergeant entirely. The "tr" was for my best friend's at the time clan.

Anyway, incredible photo. Looks like heaven in the old photograph for me. You know... the small town heaven look.

Actually, it wasn't so heavenly. Kids in the picture are bare footed, and there was a spate of murders and violence around then relating to property ownership and religion.

But we can dream.

This is Denny Street, Tralee, Kerry in 1900:

This is it last year (Notice the bank is in the same place) The street was massively elongated since and has a museum a few 100 metres behind the statue in the way.

Why not outsource the work to us.

Give the dimensions, maybe the font type for the title bar or whatever, and we're good to go.

It was already done and a bunch were submitted. Cheat just has to get around to looking at them which will apparently happen after he fixes some bugs that have been slated to get squashed for a while now.

Gaming / Re: So this guy decided to trash-talk me after a game of MCC
« on: April 17, 2015, 08:24:40 PM »
Ah ignore 'em. Not much point arguing with retards over a game unless it's the parents who get on and rage at you.

I remember this kid was trash talking on GTA IV to me and a friend. After we hounded him around Liberty City for a few kills in the helicopter, he must've complained to his mum or something because suddenly my friend was receiving voice messages from this very irate woman, talking about what we were doing was evil and shouldn't be killing this child's character.

My mate just went on to deconstruct the crazy lady's argument by mention GTA was a violent, 18 rated game, her son shouldn't be playing it, and shouldn't be swearing and starting shit if he can't handle it. Soon afterwards we heard over gamechat the mum having a go at the kid and crying and then suddenly "WhateverHisFuckingGTWas has Left".

I rarely get ragemail myself, but I did get some from this crazy tryhard german guy on BF3. Complaining about how the SCAR-H was a nooby gun for it's high damage and low recoil and dmg dropoff (he even went into figures about these), and then went on to say how better he was because he uses some other gun because it has crappier stats (divulges some more about some pointless numbers).

"But lol bro look who's dead". That just set off his crazy German rage mode, sending shouty messages in german, not unlike Hitler if I must be honest. That one was pretty funny.

You'll get better.

It wasn't a complete muck-up by any standard - she's got your number, and you have an excuse to talk to her again to ask for her number.
Thing is, I might not be at that job much longer because I have a second interview for another on Tuesday. Goddammit I was so tired I wasn't thinking straight. You're always supposed to ask for her number. It's not like she said sorry I have boyfriend. Why am I so stupid...

Well, first off stop being so hard on yourself.

Second, you have an incentive to "get on that" quickly - leaving your job is now a goal to go out with her before.

Gaming / Re: The Only Legit Reason Pre-Ordering is Acceptable.
« on: April 17, 2015, 06:49:10 PM »
It really shouldn't exist.

Pre-ordering even "guaranteed" good games before they're out is a gamble, and essentially that's what is.

Either you "win" and get a decent game you wanted on release, or lose because you've just waited months and just received a POS game because they knew you'd be suckered into pre-ordering it.

That fucker who won the Nipton Lottery in F:NV.

I'm pretty sure everyone has killed him upon meeting him, either for the lottery (which ironically, the reward was his life) or because like me, that guy was a smarmy fuck with a shootable face.

Well it's the only reference I have.

But with that info though, it's better to get a First in your subject and then a decent job.

Then a massive middle finger to everyone else who's doubting simply over a subject choice that isn't that bad. (Personally I wouldn't have chosen it because of my own interests, but at least it isn't an actual pointless degree).

The fuck you expecting from him?

Nothing, really. Brains, maybe. Confidence in their original choice of subject, and self confidence overall.
