« on: May 16, 2015, 05:19:38 PM »

To answer your question, I've never ran a mile. I've ran a km two years ago, and I might have ran one drunk last year over winter, but never a mile. God I'm so unhealthy.

I've lost a bronze medal I earned for swimming in a river when I was young. Like fuck was I gonna dive in and look for it.
That's so ironic.

ikr

Shame is that is was my first and so far ONLY medal or serious award for doing something, and I feckin' lost it. Typical.

Serious / Re: The UK fox hunting ban
« on: May 16, 2015, 09:32:17 AM »
As a countryside man who over has over my life lost several ducks and chickens to foxes, minx and badgers, I am against using dogs for fox hunting. It is pointlessly cruel to kill a fox in that way.

It's not even the dogs ripping them to shreds (well, partially...), it's more the whole chase thing. Chasing a fox until it no longer has the stamina to run, and then releasing the hounds on it when it can't fight back is just fucking barbaric. I could be wrong on the last part and it could be due to the dogs reaching the fox before the hunters do, but that just shows negligence on their part and the lack of control of their hunting dogs, which is even more showing of the type of people who do this.

I'm ok with professionals using guns to shoot and dogs to track them, but not letting them off the leash for the kill. And it's not like foxes are overly deserving of being hunted for killing poultry, it's not like it's hard to fence off a chicken's/duck's coup with wire and adequate shelter for the night. After loosing a lot to fox raids, my dad and I adapted the fencing and locked the chickens up at night and voila, no more chickens lost.

Using dogs to track - fine. Using the dogs to hunt and kill the animal - totally unjustifiable. You don't even eat the fucking fox afterwards.

They'd get to see an Indian Mela festival thing I went to, watch me eat some tasty samosas and around now get ready for 2 hours of revision.

Also, me showering which would probably make anyone watching draw back in horror.

S4 Mini is around £200 these days (pay as you go, because I don't communicate with anyone), and despite the name is actually not mini.

It's got all the nice trinkets like a front facing camera, a decent MP back camera, 1.3GB RAM for doing lots of things, NFC/Blutooth/other shit, etc. Only drawback is a short battery life (2 days with low brightness and only WiFi on) and the small hole burnt in your pocket.

Exactly how old are we talking?

She's 26 I just turned 23 last month.

Hahahaha, "older woman"... technically correct, but no. Just no.

Regardless, break a leg. Or don't, might effect your ability to do the sex if and when it happens.

Saver account that shit, might get into low risk stocks for a small portion of it. Another portion for emergencies

I wouldn't need it straight away and could scrape some life off the interest/ the small profit I make.

I'm presuming he can appeal like any other charged criminal can?

I'm expecting this to be really drawn out if that's the case, or rushed through quickly because of his infamy (unlike the many unknowns on death row atm).

Serious / Re: We can all agree that Ricky Gervais is a cunt, right?
« on: May 15, 2015, 06:08:59 AM »
Meh, Ricky can be alright occasionally.

For this case, I'd generally agree that it's not ok to pose with the animal you hunted. Hunting and eating it afterwards fine, but glorifying it is pointless.

I mean, I've hunted rabbits and go fishing when I can, but I wouldn't take a picture of the thing unless it looked nice after I'd cooked and served it.

Why isn't that fucking enough?!

This "harmful activities" clause is pretty broad. I mean, "a risk of causing...alarm or distress"... that's virtually anything depending if you say something potentially "offensive" to a devout religious person, a SJW, a feminist, a member of the opposite political party, etc etc...

I'm not liking this one bit, and that quote is some serious 1984 shit.

So long as he isn't shoving it done your throat, it's perfectly fine. He's happy believing in a higher power, and you're perfectly fine not.

Thank him for the book, read it or don't, and continue on.

But yeah, they're strictly speaking not related and the UK leaving the ECHR would not change anything about its membership of the EU, even though it would send a certain message.

Thanks for taking the time to clear the confusion for me. But that ^ was what I was concerned about. It may not be a requirement to accept it to be in the EU, but scrapping a policy that is generally accepted within the EU as it's default legislature for human rights is not gonna look good.

It's really -blam!-ing annoying how all the rest of you -blam!-s can say all the shit you want, but every time I try the system changes it.

God damned -godwinslaw!- mods changing all my shit.

I've got one planned for when I eventually get there, though I'll probs have to modify them again from the old title bar widths.

That or I'll modify my old Bungie coup design. Dougal and Father Ted, anyone?

All of those specs seem pretty decent apart from the SSD, but that can be fixed by buying a portable hard drive for all your non-default shit.

Reasonable price, if leaning a little on the "careful now" scale.

Not sure if this is good or bad... it sounds bad. If they are going to replace/have a localised reform of it, it better be fucking good as at the moment it's just going to alienate the UK further from the EU.
Just gonna point out real quick that the ECtHR technically has nothing to do with the EU.

Well that's awfully odd.

>implying distance between the UK and EU is a bad thing

Not really sure how it is or isn't good for the UK, but it'll certainly have wider consequences. EU would just become another version of the UN, which would be laughed at as an authority when it writes stern letters rather than taking action.

If one major powerhouse of the EU goes, it'll be barely holding together and the UK is the only one that looks likely.

I've only anecdotal evidence to support this. Housemate took LSD, went off to the park and did yoga and is now doing some charity work over the summer. Normally he's not the sort of person to just go off and do that, so more power to him.

It's an interesting topic to discuss with my Dad what with his "experience", and he's a pretty reasonable open minded guy.

Got up at 7am to do a 3 hour exam for 9am.

As shit as that sounds, I thought it went pretty well. Don't think I failed, at least.
