Doesn't that remove the software on it, like the Xbox OS?

Is there anything on old consoles that need 500GB? I remember the Playstation not having a lot.

Good luck, I only have a knack at takin things apart, not putting them back together.

Many lurk because shitheads like Chally, Verbatim, Desty, Lemon, Loaf, and a fuck ton of others I can't think of right now, post nothing but constant verbal diarrhea on this forum.

If that were true, why would lurkers stay to read it?

Hell, since you know the place better than the average lurker, why do you keep coming back, why do you stay?
I personally don't think its stupid.
Well duh, why else would you do it.

Why you stay in a place that ridicules you is your own perogative, but damn man we already know your thinking is not the most rational one as it is.

And for your initial point, most of those make up the character of the place and 2 of them contribute the most to this forum, "diarrhrea" or otherwise.

If you or lurkers wanna change the place, DIY. I'm thinking of setting up a photgraphy thread later on, for example.

The way I see it, you want to be male, so you changed your gender. Loaf wants to be female, so he took the aspects he likes about females and made it his own thing. Basically you changed because you want to fit a role, and he just put on a dress while still acknowledging that he's a male.

You changed because you were uncomfortable, he didn't because he's comfortable.
I'm not transgender, dipshit. Guys can wear girly clothes too.
Guys don't wear girly clothes. The only ones who do are the ones who want to be girls.
...and transvestites.

The Flood / Re: Really starting to like my position
« on: March 12, 2018, 12:49:16 PM »
I'm just trying to get you see things from my pov for a moment

You sound like you're in the same position as my mum - working a dead-end minimum wage job (so in the US I assume that's like well below a living wage...) because an artist hasn't a lot of market to sell or job desirability in the area.

I do wonder about that. It's not like all artists (creative writing, painting, photography, or otherwise) just deserve money thrown at them for making something because the need/want for them isn't always there, but then shit like paintbrushes, canvasses, cameras and film rolls, etc don't come free. It does irk me that some artists get famous for something ridiculous like selling 9 pints of his own blood frozen into the shape of his head and then can live off the success of that whilst other artists can do nothing but work their whole lives for no acclaim, or even money.

Seems like creatives would greatly benefit from something like Universal Basic Income, so then a job (if they choose to have one) is just doing something else for your extra spare time outside of writing/painting/whatever, and some extra cash on top of what you can already live off of.

(Getting therapy's always a bonus, too)

Point out lurkers and dragging them out into the attention of us lot, bringing on the above.

Gaming / Re: Why is Sep7agon so anti-modding?
« on: March 09, 2018, 11:24:25 PM »
You have to understand the difference between "hating" mods, and people just not talking about them.

For example, fans of Bethesda games typically have the motto "If it don't work, or it's not there, mod it". The Nexus alone has literally millions of mods for the fairly recent (>2000) Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.

I play Battlefront II (the classic one) and Deus Ex with texture remastering/"HD" mods because straining my eyes blasting what I think is a green dinosaur against similarly green jungle on the blurry moon of somewhere for the glory of the Republic or staring at a polygonal cyborg potato-faces for several hours having conversations with them about the dystopia we live in is not my idea of relaxing entertainment. But I don't have to mention it or link to the mods, there's already hundreds of dedicated places for that.

For hardware modding like chipping consoles (for all I'm aware of is to play pirated games or cheat) or re-skinning your console into GLADOS, most of us don't go past spray painting a controller or putting stickers on the side.

I will say though, if you and Chally want to 1v1 on Halo again, but neither of you can be arsed to do it on a dusty '360, there is Eldorito for PC. Why make it so hard going to arrange, when you can make it easy?

Did they make drive through bogland and potholey-roads or through the towny, yet still potholey roads?

How confident do you feel going 120kph on the N-roads?

Be more sarcastic, and less serious in serious.

It sounds bad, but participate less. Might game a bit more though, I remember we had a Sep7 Reach night or two.
ywn get kiyo, noelle, and ktan into a Reach gamenight again. why live?
Meh, they weren't ever a problem for me. I only remember Reach nights because it was the only I had time to participate in (maybe a Halo 3 custom game or two), and looking back we had Battlefield, Halo 3, Reach, Counter Strike, and likely a few others.

The Flood / Re: Screenshots from Bungie.net
« on: March 08, 2018, 10:20:49 PM »
I was thinking about that the other day. Are there any other offsites other than Sep7 and Sapph? You'd think there'd be more.

There's one called Bungle I think that is an offsite, but I'm not certain if it's a bungie one or just a forum that happens to have a lot of ex-bungie people on it. Couldn't really make heads or tails of it tbh, the layout's a bit funny to me.

IIRC Deci got ranty and made his own at one point, maybe SecondClass did too...? Either way, those are gone.

With the recent Bungie drama/evacs, the evicted #offtopics made their own group that was pretty lively for a few days, but checking in just now it's a lot quieter.

The Flood / Re: Screenshots from Bungie.net

Also, who are/were Forum Tryhards?
It was basically just another off topic forum that mostly centered around being a tryhard at Halo. Some of them might still be around unless bungie nuked private groups.
That's what I was thinking. If Sapph and FT were some of the largest/active at the time, and one went offsite, you'd think the other would be bumping around somewhere.

Hell, Septagon/Sep7agon wasn't really a thing until it just appeared after a myriad of proto-offsites failed.

Not a screenshot but this is the thread where Fourm Tryhards BTFO'd Sapphire.

Quote
I got banned for telling a mod I wouldnt change my opinion on something just because he told me to. The group is great for members who have been there a while, but if you havent, you get looked down on for having a different opinion than someone else.

Quote
Sapphire technically has more posts in it, but the "discussion" is just people making single responses to topics and never coming back to see what posts have been made. There is no conversation in most threads. Many are just surveys that people only look at once to make their post and never come back to.

Quote
Sapphire, a popular gathering spot for many unfunny tennagers to share their dull lives, is fanny flustered that people like FT, a group of mature, knowledgeable persons armed only with the brotherhood and friendship they've forged through time.

Quote
Quote
Everyone telling everyone to stop taking private groups seriously

Sits here and defends their groups honor like it is a literal war.

Never change, b.net

Difference is, you dont get banned for having a differing opinion in most groups. Sapphire is an exception.

Quote
Group war?

Quote
I notice a lot of group negativity in this thread. It is like a high school lunch room. Every Group is unique in it's own way. No group is the "superior group", There are many things that I like in all groups I a in like good friends, a place to hang out, and good people to talk to.

FCAW is cool to me because there are people to play with and game nights.

Sapphire is cool to discuss because it is active and people are willing to discuss many topics.

Mythic Members has a lot of older members and a wide variety of topics.

15th April, 2012. Some things just never change, eh?

Also, who are/were Forum Tryhards?

Chode, Azu, it isn't worth replying to this thread anymore :/
who is this person

One of the (if not straight up) most friendly people on Sapphire. To some of Sep7 that doesn't say a lot, so I'll add; was one of the first to actually welcome me to the place and not say "Oh god, not one of them".

That, or it's a city in the West of Ireland, take yer pick.

The Flood / Re: So what? Trump fucked Stormy Daniels.
« on: March 07, 2018, 09:52:00 PM »
i believe the issue with that one wasn't that he fucked her, but that he paid her a bribe using campaign money

That’s not the issue. There are thousands of legitimate things to fault Trump on. He gives us new ones every time he tweets. This is really reaching for shit that truly doesn’t matter. So what? He cheated on his wife and paid off the mistress. He’s on the cusp of starting a trade war with the world, he retweets shit from known white nationalist groups, he’s under investigation for colluding with a hostile foreign power in an election that brought him to power, he apparently hasn’t fully divested himself from his businesses, he’s been recorded blatantly bragging about sexual assault, he’s holding on to a delusion that the wall will be built or even be effective if it were, his tweets fuck up international relations daily, he’s spent more time golfing than Obama, Bush and Clinton combined, and I could keep going on.

After that laundry list of shit, this matters?

Maybe that's the plan. Do something massively stupid and awful, and everyone suddenly forgets that you did something else slightly less stupid and awful last week. Keep doing it until you can cover the stupidly awful thing up, or make a slightly worse one.

Trump just hasn't seemed to figure out how to cover his tracks yet. When you hear he started a trade war with the EU, you almost forget he started a war of rhetoric with North Korea just under a month ago, or shat up Mexico during his election campaign. Or the multitude of other things, it's probably easier to just list what he hasn't fucked up as President now.

I love how everything is neatly labelled so I can correctly form my opinion, and then check against the artists' one in the corner to make sure I'm right.

"Oh, the crying trooper is demoralised"
"Oh, the guy on a cheap bike is priveledged because his bike lane is clear compared to owning a money-sink like a car"
"Oh, teenagers not working at newspaper deliveries are why traditional mediums of news are failing, not because technology has advanced that I can read it on my phone, see it on my TV, or get a variety of differing reports online"

I feel better already not thinking and leaving him to do it for me.

he said something blatantly untrue, i spent 5 minutes getting the receipts. you can stay salty about it all you want
Listen here you dipshit...

Nah I'm kidding, genuinely didn't know about most of these.

On observation, most are from 2016 (when Sapphire first went offsite iirc) so that makes sense, and most of them are just "What's it like?"

That tankies one is the first major one since we heard it went offsite (the 2016 30-pager). I wouldn't really consider this one since its just Deci trying to be relevant again (again, see first page where the general response is "wtf stop talking shite Deci") and it just rolled off from tankies.

Loving how Deci went from "We should have an alliance" 2 years ago to "man fuck that place" and started this whole shitflinging funfest.
