Serious / Re: When does a "child" become responsible for their actions?« on: November 27, 2015, 07:56:33 AM »
In the UK the lowest age a kid can be charged with a crime is 10 I think?
Anyway, if there's no clear outside influence on the kid to commit the crime, they should be held responsible. The punishment however would be far less than what an adult would recieve, i.e. A stern talking to about right and wrong with parents and/or police. Only exception to this would be extreme crime, like those two kids in the 80's who tortured and murdered another kid. That's just fucked up. 2463

Serious / Re: With the current geopolitical climate in mind, how likely is the prospect of nuclear war now?« on: November 26, 2015, 12:14:03 PM »
Unlikely.
We're still waiting to set the bar for the "minimum excuse" to use a nuclear weapon, and no one remotely sensible wants to be the first to get internationally condemned and then subsequently invaded/nuked. Until we get a World War (which given the technological advances in military hardware over the last 70 years is unlikely to resemble a conventional World War), I doubt nuclear weapons on par with Fatman/Little Boy will be used again for a looong time. Bunker busters and whatever else is nuclear on a sub-kiloton level will likely be used sooner, though that may ramp up the tensions towards going full nuclear. 2467

When you're spending 4.5% of your GDP on military hardware, gotta make cuts somewhere to fit in the amount of SU's you want.

Serious / Re: Turkey may have accidentally started WWIII« on: November 24, 2015, 04:00:53 PM »
It should be mentioned that Turkey has enforced their own buffer zone which implies 5km into Syrian Airspace is now theirs. This puts the flight path of the Russian jet into a lot of trouble, as instead of the internationally agreed borders of Turkey and the small incursion by the jet in it's flight path, the buffer zone only recognised by Turkey put it as virtually in "Turkish airspace" for most of it's trip. Because fuck you, they're Turkey.
This is already a heap of shit, not to mention that: -Rebels/fucking whoever started shooting the parachuting pilot, a big no-no under the Geneva conventions. -FSA immobilised, than TOW'd an evac chopper searching for him. -Turkey ran to NATO for advice/protection rather than sorting out the situation with Russia themselves. Good fucking job Turkey, you pricks. 2482
Are you Welsh? It's so bad that because I went into the lowest set I had the entry-level exam, which I passed easily because it's retarded. The highest you can get is a C, which I got, and it's a better result on paper than most of my fluent Welsh friends because they took the higher level exam and had a harder marking scheme. And yet here I am, having barely a clue about the language but with a grade that makes me look like I know my shit. 2483
Are you Welsh? Feck it, can't reply back in Welsh but I got the gist of what you said. It's mostly because how it's taught in schools here. If you're first language Welsh, great, you get taught it on par with English studies where they go into grammar and more advanced shit. If you're second language, it's basically the above if you're top-set (I couldn't go there because I couldn't speak welsh fluently enough to understand or respond) or bottom-set which is elementary level Welsh (which I had already learned in the first year of being here...) until you no longer do it (GCSE's). There doesn't appear to be a middleground, either you know it already and it's honed, or you don't know it all and you learn fucking colours at 16. I get it, coch is red and gwyn is white, ok! Also, fuck mutations. 2484
Are you Welsh? Dydy ddim yn hoffi Cymraeg. Spoiler I hope I got that right, I spent 9 years here fucking learning it. 2485

That's the thing though, they didn't even go into British airspace if that diagram is correct with that red area.
Found a quote from the image's source, The Daily Mail... Quote A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: 'Typhoon aircraft went up from RAF Lossiemouth to intercept two Russian Tu-160 aircraft flying in Britain’s area of interest in international airspace over the Atlantic and remained with them until they left the area. Both of these sides are flexing their muscles at each other, haven't heard shit from Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Africa, Italy, Cyprus... |
