Serious / Re: Is it possible to use drugs responsibly?
« on: March 20, 2016, 09:01:00 PM »
With proper education and respect of the drug, you can use it responsibly, even to the point that you decide not using it at all is the best choice.

Take alcohol as an example. While alcoholism is a concern, it is a minority among the millions of people who go out drinking every weekend who are affected by it, despite being a Class A if it were made illegal (Due to the damaging effects it has on you and others around you). The cause of that can be down to the fact that Secondary schools (at least in the UK and I assume elsewhere) teach about the effects and potential dangers of abusing alcohol at an early age, as well as illegal substances (although from what I've experienced alcohol is warned about far more often than illegal drugs, likely because you're at a higher chance to be exposed to it). Same goes for tobacco, which goes even further to have governments restricting the use of it.

What I don't know (Full text behind a pay-wall) is if the study was conducted fairly, i.e. the effects of a drug on yourself or others as a pure sample. While it's obvious Heroin is a highly addictive and dangerous substance, I believe it would cause less harm to yourself if it was pure, rather than whatever the fuck street peddlers have cut in which is also not in your best interests to inject. I also have no idea how far the statements cover. Does harm to myself count if I fell over drunk, or others if I crashed my car drunk or stole money to feed my addiction?

Nah, got a PS4 because of the sweet Destiny console:

Shit on the game if you want, but damn it looks nice (and when it's cheaper than the standard at the time? Haha, sold!)

Can't tell with that manufactured photo. Everyone looks great in those things... get one on a night out and you see closer to the truth.

30 fps, more features.

I came to play a game, not to look at art. If I want to do that, I get a separate outlet for "artistic" games or just go to an abstract art gallery.

Not bad. Finished my final report for 2nd Year, relaxed until St Patrick's Day and yesterday where I drunk a lot and played pool with some friends.

I don't like starting conversations. I prefer to have them start it so I'm at ease knowing everything is okay. But I know they're very busy right now.

Eh, that's kinda a time to ask what's up unless you're confident about the situation.

It really is a case-by-case scenario. Last gf I had wasn't one to start conversation, so I had to which wasn't exactly the easiest when I'm the same.

7+ days?

You should be able to go several days or MORE with no texting between you and feel fine about it.

It's kinda obvious that racism is bad, but really? This is the Serious board.

Sapphire is a Joke, I got IP Banned "just for disagreeing" with WhitestGirlUKnow....

Didn't even break any rules, had no previous Warnings/Bans = Straight up IP banned.

What'd you do?

I've already disagreed with people plenty and I'm wondering how I'm still there considering around half of us who posted on Sapphire have been IP banned already.
I disagreed with her about Social Issues - http://www.sapphirehrg.com/viewtopic.php?p=18676#p18676
Refresh it.

I argued with her about a different issue and nothing happened. Weird.
I was even being Neutral about it, lol. I guess they're "Either with us or Against Us".

Yeah, honestly I was probably more aggressive than your posts were, basically calling her stupid (not what I meant but I think it came off that way). Were you insulting them on here? I know they've checked what people are saying here.

That's really fucking weird. I've said relatively worse, had a disagreement, and defended my claim, yet I'm in the clear. Hell, even on here I've been free with my opinions and I haven't been Gestapo'd yet.

They must like you, thats enough of a reason to keep you there for them, well until you slip up.

My first post got me warned. Yeah, they just love me.
Its pretty obvious their moderation is as subjective as it gets, varying from mod to mod more than likely. No reason to think that the same guy who warned you thinks the other stuff you did wasn't okay while another doesn't. Don't think about it too much and consider yourself likely to get banned at any point in time.

Does posting pm's from another site violate our rules?
I would think so. Either way, it's not something I'd risk.

The release of other user’s personal information, including full names, addresses, social media accounts, images, private messages, etc. without their consent is not tolerated. Doing so will lead to the information being edited out and bans being applied.

So if they aren't a user on this site it's ok?

The ones I have talked to are, or have joined recently, so I wouldn't want to. Plus it'll stir up shit, and I'm fine having it as it is atm.

Not to mention, Sapphire's perception of Sep7agon is very low as it is. To them, we're a group of toxic bigots, trolls, and shitposters who circlejerk about hating feminism and anything remotely "progressive" in any way. Can you honestly tell me that you don't see why they would've been so quick to punish you?

Aaand that's the part I call bullshit. Being elitist about being a supposed better offsite when all they do is ban and censor opposing ideals, even by association is no better than we are for openly shitposting and going "lol muslims/women". I could show you how superior they feel with the PM's I received, but I know what the rules are here, and I intend to follow them.

I don't hate the people there, not at all. Some are quite nice to talk to about some topics, privately or otherwise (after some convincing I'm not some Sep7 stereotype, whatever the fuck that is). For the record, while it may have been my first post, it was the first topic that appeared at the time. Soon afterwards there was a totally opposite version of the thread and I posted the exact opposite. Should they warn me because I may have been sarcastic on the happy thread too?

The people are nice, the moderation is quick to judge and lackluster.

Allowing the insult thread at all to continue is a greenlight to go insult there, or it's a lapse in moderation and seeing as mods were posting in there, green light a-go-go.

At least here the rules are fairly set in stone, so everything is set out and very easy to follow. There the rules are greyed or simply followed or ignored depending on who it is. Can't be a bigot there, but by golly you can create your own thread and question the sanity of religious people, yet I can't do a single insult on an insult thread because it referenced the website in a sea of posts saying various manner of insults. That sorta bullshit.

The matter was already settled there, but I'm surprised to see you attempting to defend them. Sure there is a "perceived line", but if they aren't setting it out in the rules or the rules are broad statements with them not being followed impartially and with impunity, it needs work.

The Flood / Re: Sapphire went offsite

The reason why so-and-so got warned for posting an insult in the insult thread is because so-and-so crossed a perceived line.

There's banter--there's fun and games--and then there's just being a genuine dick. Now, Irish may not have been serious with his post, but how exactly is their mod team supposed to know that? Look at it from their perspective: A new member stumbles in at near-random, and some of his first posts are just him talking shit about their website. How else is a mod meant to react to that?

He didn't even get banned for it--he was just warned.

I know shitting on Sapphire is the "cool" thing to do right now, but let's be reasonable.

On an insult thread

I wouldn't have been so hard on the words if it was anything else. Hell, someone said "site needs work lol" and got warned.

Don't take away the context from this, it's a bullshit excuse. It was so bullshitty that I called out on it and had it rescinded.
