Anakin is literally Jesus. Another thing the prequels got wrong.

Definitely dark souls. I think that's why I didn't enjoy dks3 as much. I really hit my stride in dks2 and then bloodborne forced me to rethink how I played the souls games.

Three felt like a cakewalk comparatively.

Doom

OT: Overwatch.

Overwatch is fantastic. Free content updates are the shit. Seasonal events keep me coming back and they just overhauled the whole experience with new game modes and weekly challenges that reward you with loot boxes.

Real easy to make friends if you're good at the game, half the people on my friends list are people who added me because of overwatch.

Yeah it was especially hard to care about the deaths in this movie. This was no saving private Ryan.
When I say Saving Ryan's Privates, I mean just the action scenes on the beach and all that. It's a war film set in the Star Wars universe. It did do that entire final stretch amazingly if you ask me. It was just the build up to it was sooooooooooooooooo long

I was referring to the deaths not having much of an impact. SPR had a lot of character development that allowed you to care about the people on screen, this movie falls short of that goal.

I didn't even see the trailer or read anything about it prior to seeing it.

Best way to watch movies, tbh

On this we agree. Entering a movie with preconceived notions is a pretty good way to ruin it for yourself.

Why let it piss you off?

The best revenge is a life well lived.

Just let it fall off you like water off a duck's ass. He goes home angry at whatever he thought you did and you go and be happy. Not meaning to preach, but life's too short to stress assholes.
I wanted to see him crash and blow up or get pulled over tho

I get it. After 41 years on this mudball, I get it.

But he's gonna go on being an asshole. Nothing you will do will change that. Karma is coming for him. He's gonna have his day. But you? Do whatever it is that makes you happy. Bleed that stress off and go on smiling.

He's obviously an unhappy manchild that validates himself by intimidating others. Best you can do is not carry it with you when he leaves. Before long he's pumping your gas and going home to his trailer and his fat, cheating wife. Yet you go on to whatever your destiny takes you. Above it.

I resent this comment, there's nothing wrong with trailers.

Probably just the one, wouldn't be surprised if he went for two tho.

Being limited in what you can do doesn't mean free will doesn't exist. Being influenced by others or your situation doesn't mean free will doesn't exist. Being medically depressed and having the chemicals in your brain go haywire does not mean free will doesn't exist.

If you make a choice you make a choice. This whole illusion of choice is just another cop out.

More like Star heck and mass defect.

5243
That would be like chopping the hands off of a starving man because he stole food.

5244
We let murderers out all the time.

Doesn't change that it's immoral. Taking someone's freedom away because the universe decided they were murderers is wrong.
What's more wrong--taking the role of "good guy" and incarcerating those who were given the role of "bad guy," or letting those who were given the role of "bad guy" go free so that they end up killing whoever they end up killing?

You are not making any sense and are grasping for straws.

I think if the universe decides that you're a good guy, you should be quite happy about that.

I'm worried I might be a bad guy. What if my brain decides I should murder someone? I don't want to be punished for a crime I had no hand in.

5245
If you literally aren't responsible for your actions you shouldn't be punished for them.

You aren't going to learn anything from the punishment, your actions are chosen for you.
But we still need to incarcerate criminals so that they don't cause any more harm. It's not about punishing the guilty. It's not about teaching anyone anything. It's about preventing harm in any way that we feasibly can.

We let murderers out all the time.

Doesn't change that it's immoral. Taking someone's freedom away because the universe decided they were murderers is wrong.

Poor guy

5248
If you literally aren't responsible for your actions you shouldn't be punished for them.

You aren't going to learn anything from the punishment, your actions are chosen for you.

5249
I just moved my arm and stopped it, I'm relatively sure that hasn't changed anything.
You wouldn't have done so were we not having this conversation. That was a determined event. I triggered something in your mind that caused you to move your arm and stop it in an effort to demonstrate free will, but you didn't actually demonstrate anything more than your own illusions of choice which we all have.

Quote
Also this isn't actual evidence.
I literally cannot give you any hard evidence, just like you can't give me hard evidence for free will. This is a philosophical subject.

Quote
Plus that's a pretty convenient cop out to say that our actions are strictly chemicals in our brains.
But they are. That doesn't mean we shouldn't incarcerate criminals and continue doing the right thing. It's just that our choice to do so is an illusion. We have no choice. We do what we're programmed to do.

If free will is an illusion then it's immoral to punish criminals.

And as far as your brain chemical theory goes there's literally no answer to that. Out of the countless things I can do or say you can always blame my choice on chemicals in my brain.

The fact that I choose to do these things is all the evidence I need but you can carry on saying it was predetermined by a chemical reaction.

There's really no point continuing this conversation.

5250
And how the fuck was that an oxymoron?
You said we can't do impossible things, yet proceeded to claim that we have the ability to choose.

We don't. That is impossible.

Not an oxymoron, and I was referring to the choice to try. Just because you can't do something doesn't mean you can't try.
