Yeah merits are xp. Every merit you get also gives you a credit for buying weapons/camos etc.

Stim is the far better mobility option and it speeds health regen. Not as busted as it was in TF1 but still great
as for the other abilities; sonar blade is busted and A-wall is equaly cancerous. Those along with phase dash are banned in competitive. Everything else is meh

Well I can do Legion. But the Stryder titans I'm horrendous with because I don't like "poking"/ not being able to tank, I just don't find Ion very effective and Tone is just bland.
Scorch can tank and just deals fuck tons of damage if his attacks are properly co ordinated.
I dig scorch but he's so fucking slow. I like em a little quicker

Alternator is just CAR but on steroids. Like, it's better for hip fire.
You may be high, car is superior in every way.
I dunno. I've used the Alt a couple times and heavily enjoyed using it. I'm switching to it as my main once I've got these last few camos for the CAR.
I got it to level eight, I prefer the car. The energy one is pretty fire tho.
I've not been too impressed with the Volt, though I haven't spent much time with it.
However, I've been having a lot of fun dicking around with the Sidewinder.
The Chevy volt is my shit, you have to ADS but there's like zero recoil. Plus it makes sweet noises and I love yelling "Chevy volt!" after each kill
