WHY NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS WHEN THE FIRST GAME WAS OUT? In fact most of the competitive players like Frothy still think TF1's skill ceiling was higher in Titan vs Titan Combat since you were made to make room for your shields to recharge and not just out-DPSing the opponent.
Yeah they simplified the mechanics a good deal but there's still room to excel.

I never could get into quake, I wish I had though. Read an article recently about how it wasn't a simple progression model like CoD but that you get better at the game itself.
I've always liked games that have high skill ceilings and allowed players with enough time to excel and become legend ™.
I think I'll be playing titanfall for a while.
Yeah, you definitely should've. It's such a great game. As far as I know, no other FPS has such a high skill ceiling. Brilliant movement too. Its movement is similar to Titanfall, aside from the wallrunning and boosts like stim or the grappling hook, only with more control and advanced strafing, bouncing and jumping techniques. Quake 3 came out in 1999 and there's still yearly world championships of people just trying to get through new maps as fast as possible. The movement alone is so versatile and high skilled that it created an entire scene of racing/trickjumping just around it.
Definitely give these two clips a watch, they're short and a pretty good example of what it's like. It looks surprisingly easy, but every jump has to be timed perfectly and the mouse movements are extremely precise to build speed while strafing.
Probably the reason I've taken a liking to Titanfall too.
That's fucking nuts, I don't think I'll ever have the time to master a game like that.

Bruv, let me play that on PC and I could totally do that. I've always loved stuff like that and put countless hours into Defrag, Wolfenstein: ET trickjumping and Quake jumps. I even made awesome trickjumping videos way back then, lol.

Bunny hopping is just a faster way of sprinting and prevents you from practicing your wall runs
Or covering the three open areas in the game. Pretty awesome for chaining runs and keeping that speed tho.
