You're right, they're not fucking, but I imagine Verb would consider similarly gratuitous. It's common to refer to any scenes like this as "sex scenes" when regarding video games, a la Mass Effect's "romance" scenes.

i'm no fan of the witcher, but don't you think it's a little childish to throw everything else the game does out the window because of a sex scene? is that what i'm doing?

he says that smut scenes aren't "required," yet he ends up being wrong in the most aggressively obvious way--that's kinda hilarious
either way, the opening scene for a game is important in that it sets the tone, so if the opening scene involves sex, then it's reasonable to assume, as somebody who hates that shit, that it's probably not for me
so even if i were throwing the game under the bus, which i'm not, it would be completely reasonable for me to do so
surely a movie you like is guilty of the same crime yet you overlook it there.
i don't "overlook" anything, but okay, let's look at my favorite movies
fight club - one quick sex scene done in the most tasteful way imaginable, and another one that's pretty much completely offscreen and played for laughs; inoffensive, clever, perfect
goodfellas - no sex whatsoever except for one implied blowjob, iirc, which is surprising, given the context and setting of the film, plus it's directed by scorsese, who is the king of excess when it comes to big budget drug films
requiem for a dream - while it does contain the infamous "ass to ass" scene, literally all of the sex scenes in this movie are filmed in a way that's meant to be sad, revolting, or horrifying--the ideal way to film a sex scene if you must have any at all
the movie i believe has the highest quality:sex ratio is the wolf of wall street, which, again, what some may interpret as a glorification of debauchery is actually a film that condemns every second of jordan belfort and his cohorts' wild, excessive behavior; it's an indictment, not a manual
i can't think of a movie i like that doesn't have tasteful, off-screen, or non-existing sex scenes

So the other day I woke up to find some hand prints on my truck. Not entirely unusual, but they were a child's hand prints. There are no children where I live, and it's not exactly a place a child might visit. They weren't there the day before and the truck hasn't moved for a week (fuel pump is shot). There's too much to cover for it to be a true adaptation of the book. They would need 3 hours for a montage of Derry's bloody history alone. That book is THICK. It will have to focus on just the Losers Club. Plus the stuff tying it to the Turtle of King's other books and Shelob of LotR?
It may be good, but they can't be faithful.
...unless they're doing a joined Stephen King universe and it ties into the Dark Tower...

I really enjoyed the first one, it wasn't until the dlc snafu that I started to regret my decision.
$100 later and the game still felt incomplete.
