Paved roads are for incontinent manchildren who want to live off of the government's tit.

Paved roads are also better maintained by the private sector and significantly cheaper. Dubai has flying cars right now hahaha!
right?! like education too. If you don't have the money for your kid to go to school, then they were just going to flip burgers anyway.
Actually education is also much better in the private sector, as public education is a complete joke and is only for indoctrination purposes. It is pretty easy to home-school and learn all by yourself.
100%. Gotta get rid of the unions to start fixing this country

Insurance is a scam invented by the mafia that only raises the cost of medicine for the average person.

It actually is a scam. Government awarded frivolous lawsuits and inflated costs of education. Doctors and surgeons used to help people out of the kindness of their hearts when they couldn't afford the costs. Now that has been made impossible.

I wasn't joking

More reasonable and better educated people from either side are better equipped to help their own camp reach a more informed and factual conclusion than "the other" is.
To some degree, sure, but then there's the fact that we're just seen as "compromisers" or "false supporters" by the rest of our side.

And really, I can fully understand the law-abiding gun owners not wanting to give a single inch more. The entire history of gun legislation and "compromise" on the subject is simply "Okay, we'll let you keep x in exchange for giving up y" or sometimes flat out "you lost popular support so we're taking away z and not giving you any consolation." and after enough of that, why wouldn't the old guys of the party dig their trenches and say "no fucking more, no matter what"

They took the mateba from me, I will not compromise any further.
I mean you have the chiappa rhino, isn't that good enough?

I think you know it's not.

Most of your energy now should be focused on work, school, hobbies, whatever else. Shit is going to be tough be it'll get easier. Like everyone else said it just takes time, a 6 year relationship is going to take quite a bit.

I'd avoid drinking and trying to date for the time being, let yourself grieve and heal before moving on. Alcohol tends to extend the time it takes to get over heartbreak.

You got this man, stay positive and you'll be fine.

When you fire a single round its not a burst...its a shot.

According to who?

I keep drinking the damn kool-aid because it tastes so good. I'll be a socialist soon.

I keep getting more libertarian. Maybe one day I'll relapse in to being an anarchist again.

Nobody should feel guilty about things they like
wouldn't go that far
I would. Feeling remorse for the things you like means that you don't truly enjoy them.
hmm, idk, perhaps we just think of the term differently

when i call something a guilty pleasure, i'm merely acknowledging that 1.) the thing i like isn't conventionally thought of as "good," 2.) it doesn't technically live up to the quality standards that i've proposed for myself, and 3.) i have to go through a twisty-turny rigmarole in attempting to explain to people why i find it so appealing in spite of everything else

like, golden boy is genuinely the funniest anime i've ever seen—it's the only show that's ever made me laugh out loud at the exact beats where i was supposed to, and i can't say the same about anything else

but it's also golden boy, a show that i'm supposed to hate because it IS everything that i hate

so it's a guilty pleasure—i would never recommend it to anybody who's expecting a little bit more from my tastes
I find that to be the difference between an embarrassing pleasure and a guilty one; it's okay to feel shame, but not regret. To decide which you're feeling, there's a simple question: "if someone discovered that I enjoyed x, would I feel bad because they found out or because I liked ?"

Like, I don't talk about anime irl (except for mentioning super mainstream stuff, like Dragon Ball); not because I feel regret for liking anime, but because it tends to attract the attention of cringemongers. I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure because I feel no remorse for liking it, but I do feel remorse for whatever misstep led to a fedora-tipper discovering that I watched some shitty SoL a few years ago.

I know this feel
