I was warned for making a thread with 190-poll options, which seems fair enough to be warned about. But then a census thread I made with 25 poll options was all of a sudden a good enough excuse to ban me. Please tell me the logic in this.

I can understand banning me for making a poll thread with more than 50 options. But 25? Really?

What did you expect? I gave you a public warning to not exploit the infinite-poll-option glitch until I can fix it, and you go ahead and do it anyway.

The ban (which was obviously not permanent) had nothing to do with the content of your post.

Okay. Also, while I'm here, when I click the + sign next to my post (mobile), the modify post and report options are invisible, you have to guess where they are.

That is literally the very next thing being fixed. We're going to put in a larger array of buttons at the bottom of each post for mobile.
