Why is this in Serious?  Shouldn't this be on The Flood?

Oh shit your right, *cough* would someone who is ninja move this, or anyone like cheat in particular.
Yes.

You should speak up, but other than that it was pretty good. I chuckled a bit.

I'm sorry, that's more of a problem with my mic setup than anything. I talk directly into mic and it barely picks up anything. It's bullshit. I'll figure out a workaround soon for the next "episode"
If you use Audacity, I believe you can just up the amplitude to make it louder.

What's up? How are you all doing? What's new?
Just got done installing this alerts mod, so that's pretty sweet.

What does it do
It tells you when someone quotes you by displaying a red square up there in the navigation bar.

It's pretty nifty.

« on: October 07, 2014, 11:01:43 PM »
I have been waiting for this day for so long.
HYPE!!
:D
Odd, your quote showed up as Cheat in my notification.
>.>
Worked fine for me :l
It worked for this one, but it went back to showing up as Cheat after I clicked it, it says I have three responses from Cheat.
Screenshot me babe (not that I'll be able to help much).

I don't think it's an error, per say, just bad design. It's displaying the avatar of the person who's quote was first sent to you out of that thread, and then adding each additional quote as a number instead of also adding their avatar.

Weird. I'll ask about it in the support on the mod site, but I don't know if it can be easily fixed.

Yeah, I know. I'll purchase the mod and install it on Monday, I think. This should make everybody happy.
That sounds like it will be a nice addition.
Let me know if you got a notification for this, Noelle.

Testing testing.

I'm strongly considering buying the notifications mod for $20.
Can we at least have the option to turn them off? I've marked all the topics as read and still I'm bombarded with two pages of irrelevant outdated notifications every time I load up the index. I'm only on mobile so this is extra irritating.

I posted somewhere else that I couldn't get around to it yesterday. Maybe...maybe I can do it today. Probably. 8)
It's only 20 fracking dollars? Why didn't we have this from the beginning?
I didn't know about it and I'm frugal with my money.

EDIT: it's installed on the test forum but of course it's not working and I wasn't given a parse list so I can fix it. We're waiting on support to respond to my ticket and until then you're stuck with the shitty notifications.
Yeah, enjoy your lawsuit.

Septagon / Re: Important Thread Archive
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:50:35 PM »
Actually, there's a side in design that prefers to cater for each platform individually and use their strengths, rather than give the same or or very similar experience in all platforms and deal with the weaknesses of each system and their differences. (The amount of work, and cuts to make things look good is pretty much the same anyway)

Media queries are used throughout the site already, but doing what you suggest would be breaking the forum continuity a bit. I don't see that route as worth the trouble.
Yes, you're right; the mobile post/edit menu is proof of that. I just have issue with having an entire section of pinned topics disappear for mobile.

I'll consider adding a block at the top of each board that has a link to the important topics. This should suffice.

Septagon / Re: Important Thread Archive
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:32:41 PM »
We could always have it for desktop users and conveniently have it disappear when someone uses mobile. That can be done with just CSS without touching the code itself.

Unlikely. It wouldn't mesh well with mobile users at all. Even if it were moved above or below, the thread list would be tall and not very user friendly.

Septagon / Re: Important Thread Archive
« on: October 07, 2014, 05:59:41 PM »
Yeah, an archive could be made and pinned in this board for important info (or in News, but I think it's more appropriate in Septagon).

EDIT: I see what you're saying. Sort of like a stickyception, where important threads that would have been pinned are instead linked to inside the one thread. Eh. I don't know how I feel about that one. We don't have a pinned-thread problem, really.
Then why do I see pinned threads being taken down and others put up quite often?
They run their course and are no longer needed. The music and art threads have been up there for a long time and I don't see them coming down any time soon.

The Flood / Re: Hey guys let's start random threads for no reason
« on: October 07, 2014, 05:58:03 PM »
It totally is.

Before you whine about how your thread got locked, read the rules:

Quote
No Porn
None. Nada. Zilch. Don't post pictures or links. Talking about boobs is fine, but posting pictures of boobs is bad. We have to draw the line somewhere.
That wasn't porn dumbass.
We need to take care not to post "provocative images" that could void our arrangement with Adsense. This is especially important in the OP, and your gif was...well, if Google had seen it then I have little doubt we'd be put back on warning status.

No, it wasn't porn. You're right about that. But it wasn't appropriate to post, either.

Septagon / Re: Is taking threads off topic against the rules?
« on: October 07, 2014, 04:11:19 PM »
Because I don't know if I'm the only one starting to get pissed off that the anime circlejerk is derailing every thread with more than a page in it all the time, so tell me; is this against the rules, and if so, why is it allowed to continue. If not, why not? Most of the time, just spamming pictures of anime doesn't even have anything to do with the OP after two or three posts.
Yes it is against the rules to derail a thread.

The reason it's not being stopped is likely because I and the other mods have no idea it's happening. I can't view every post that's made, even if I try really hard to surf the different boards. Use the report button.

Related, is there a way to implement a thing like bnet so that images are automatically in a spoiler? In threads with picture spam, its seriously slowing down my internet.
No. Not as of yet.

Serious / Re: Psychopathy tests
« on: October 07, 2014, 03:04:05 PM »
First Test
Your score from primary psychopathy has been calculated as 3.6. Primary psychopathy is the affective aspects of psychopathy; a lack of empathy for other people and tolerance for antisocial orientations.

Your score from secondary psychopathy has been calculated as 3. Secondary psychopathy is the antisocial aspects of psychopathy; rule breaking and a lack of effort towards socially rewarded behavior.

You score for primary psychopathy was higher than 85.7% of people who have taken this test.

You score for secondary psychopathy was higher than 71.45% of people who have taken this test.
Second Test
There is no clear indication that you might have a
psychopathic / antisocial personality disorder.
You reached, however, 81.25% of Factor 1 which captures the core personality traits of psychopathy that define the interpersonal and affective deficits of this personality disorder (e.g. shallow affect, superficial charm, manipulativeness, lack of empathy) and that are correlated with narcissistic personality disorder, low anxiety, low empathy, low stress reaction and low suicide risk. But Factor 1 is also associated with extraversion and positive affect - affected persons usually score high on scales of achievement and well-being, so some aspects of the personality disorder may even be beneficial for the psychopath (in terms of nondeviant social functioning or if it comes to profit from manipulation or lies).

You reached, however, 22.22% of Factor 2 which captures the traits of antisocial behavior (e.g. criminal versatility, impulsiveness, irresponsibility, poor behaviour controls, juvenile delinquency) and is associated with reactive anger, social deviance, sensation seeking, anxiety, increased risk of suicide, low socio-economic status, criminality, and impulsive violence.

You reached, however, 100.00% in other relevant traits that can indicate this personality disorder.
You might have certain traits of antisocial or psychopathic personalities but certainly not in a form that would justify a personality disorder diagnosis according to the standards.

I don't understand that. Why not just...not come here?
Lack of self control, maybe.

I do believe he actually threatened the forum as a last resort in order to make his temp ban a permanent one.
