I changed mine a bit ago and haven't seen any changes. Is it not fully functional?
They unlock for normal users in stages. Heroic + 3000 posts gets your custom nameplate (as long as you're wearing Imposter), Mythic gets you a custom title, and the one beyond that gets you custom bar/border colors.

He doesn't post here, but my IRL friend (Corsair), my other pal, and myself all drove down to Arkansas to visit a XBL buddy we had played Halo 3/Reach with for years. It was actually a lot of fun and he made the trip up here to Missouri for a LAN party a year or so later.

Another bug that I've been noticing lately is that my alerts tend to disappear when I perform a certain action. I've had it happen several times that I wrote a long post while getting a couple of alerts at the same time, which disappeared as soon as I hit the post button. Or coming back after being AFK after a while, seeing a few alerts, hitting refresh and having them all disappear is another thing that I've experienced.
Do they disappear from the alerts list, or just from the red, new alert box?

You're not alone. We both have it. It's called high functioning Autism now though. I had years of therapy as a child so it has become easier for me to empathize with others. I have trouble understanding sarcasm though and can't fully detect someone's body language until it's too late.
Doesn't cause me any issues, really; I just come off as a bit detached and cold to most people. Sarcasm is like a second language to me, but I suck at reading expressions unless I have other cues.

The label works. It fits, and it makes sense to me. If you're telling me that I just don't have a sexuality then bugger off.
I used to tell people I was straight (and most of my family/friends probably think I am) but that eventually grew more and more unappealing once I realized it was weird for most people to be straight and not want a girlfriend or have sex. It's not really a big deal in terms of "coming out" since it's a lack of doing/wanting to do something. But it is definitely a "for real" thing, yeah.

It'd be nice if we could sell the ad space to a single company or product, because then we'd be able to do what we want to do and the advertiser would get a very specific niche audience.

This is a tricky situation indeed.
I don't think creating a watered down permanent Anarchy is a solution, however. Not only would it be a mess, we'd lose a lot of ad revenue because people would be in that board screwing around without supporting the site.
Damn damn damn. Would you accept donations? How much does this place cost per month?
$20 to $30, I'd say, taking into account time spent maintaining it and money for paid modifications. I don't want to jump straight to donations, but I'll let you know if we go that route. Hopefully we can support this site with ads (if we can find a good agency).
