Nobody does. I was sitting in on a group meeting for a senior Olympics group, since they had hired me to build them a website, and one of them asked me how old I was. I was 22 at the time, but most of them thought I was 15 or 16 (or even younger) and there were a few "no way, get out of town"s before we got back on track. How they expected me to sign forms and send invoices when I wasn't yet 18, I have no fucking idea. I actually look older in pictures taken years ago; it's weird.

Posted on my Facebook wall: After the credits begin to roll at the end of The Purge: Anarchy, I (as always) scoot back into my seat, leave as much room as possible for impatient viewers to escape, and continue to watch the screen while the hoards of people shuffle out.
A couple go by me no problem. Then another few people in my row. But then a...well, I can't merely call her fat. The girl-thing was hard-pressed to maneuver through the aisles without anyone sitting in them.
She stops and looks at me, and I look back at her, and she looks at the space between my knees and the back of the seat in front of me like it's some sort of Mission Impossible obstacle course. I wave her on and pull out my phone, trying to illustrate to her that I have no intention of leaving.
She stands there, waiting for me to move and creating quite a line of people behind her. I found it irritating, so I gave it a good seven seconds of scrolling back and forth on my phone, searching for any stingers at the end of the film, before I finally took mercy on the whale-wannabe and dodged out of the aisle like the Goddamn Batman.

Yeah, that is a problem. Even when discussion topics get posted here, they tend to be pushed down quickly by some of the notorious shitposters.
I don't know that I agree. The picture thread has lasted a long, long time, and there are several multi-page threads on the front page. Shit posts would push topics down, yeah, but the introduction of more quality posts would dilute the nonsense more quickly. And it's not like you're banned from bringing a thread back from page 7 or something.

Honestly I think there needs to be a separate forum for politics, or at least one for general news stories (i.e. you link a news article and discuss it).
We need more posts that aren't bait or attacks (not criticisms, attacks) on other political philosophies.
Serious was originally brought about just for politics/religion, but it kind of slowly evolved into a place to discuss any controversial topic or have an actual debate. The problem now is that most of the interesting, real-life news and stories get posted over there instead of in the flood, and the flood keeps getting waves of shit posts that further distances it from Serious. The only reason I didn't call the board "Religion & Politics" was because I thought the name would be too long for the top forum navigation. Perhaps renaming it "Dogma" and reinstating the "politics and religion only" rules would help bring some of the quality posts here. IDK, it's just an idea...

The ability to feel pain is a very useful thing. It lets you know when something is wrong.
It also helps you interact with things. Have you ever tried to type or even grasp something with a numb arm from sleeping on it? Fucking hard to do.
