I'm cynical in general, so I don't have high hopes. People are fucking stupid.

Expect Yutaka to draw out his words veeerrrry slllloooowwwwly, but other than that and some expected awkwardness from the new experience, it wasn't half bad.
It'll be up tomorrow, or so I hear. 3843
Septagon / Re: Sep7agon.net running unbearably slow« on: November 19, 2014, 10:08:19 PM »Nope. Go ahead. With all this redirection shit going on I'm not expecting anyone to suffer through the ads until they're fixed.Mind if I keep it enabled for a day or two then? I will disable it occasionally to see if it is fixed, but it makes using this site unbearable.Enabling AdBlock seems to have fixed the slowness, it is now running normally. I wish Google had not ditched us.It seems to be doing that since I bitched at them, so it may be their ad server having a seizure from them messing around with it. 3844

Septagon / Re: CHEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT« on: November 19, 2014, 06:30:53 PM »
Ok, I've placed the ad tag in an iframe and disallowed it access to top navigation, so it shouldn't be able to redirect anything anymore. I think. Maybe.
Anyway, let me know if you're still getting them. I know for a fact that ads will still load inside the iframe (I tested it) but I would like confirmation about the redirecting issue. 3848
Septagon / Re: CHEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT« on: November 19, 2014, 06:01:00 PM »
For those of you who are able to replicate the redirect (I've yet to get it yet, ever) please try using Sep7agon on a different browser for a day and let me know what happens. I'd test this myself but...well I'm just not seeing this malicious stuff personally and I can't force it to show up on my end.
I know this is pretty basic, but also consider running an anti-malware and anti-adware program to check for anything that may be hijacking your browser. The previous ad network we used was massively shady, so it may be that a few of you picked something up from that and it's coming through on the ads here. Dump your temporary internet files if you haven't done so, and clear your cache and remove all your cookies. When you're done, you shouldn't still be logged into the site. 3850

Septagon / Those of you getting redirects« on: November 19, 2014, 04:00:38 PM »
I need the following information from you:
Code: [Select] 1. Your operating system I'll be sending these guys the URL to this thread, so keep it clean and only post once with your info. Questions can be PM'd to me or posted in another thread about these redirects. The message they sent me Hi Cheat - Thanks for reaching out again. We’ve been researching the issue, but have not been able to replicate it in the wild. Once we are able to replicate, we can use debugging code to identify and eliminate these malicious ads. Can you provide any additional operating system and browser information or ad call debugging code? We take these issues very seriously and are working diligently to resolve the issue. Please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime. Thanks 3852

TorrentDay is amazing, though. 3859

News / Re: Apply to be a Monitor« on: November 19, 2014, 01:43:10 AM »Oh, you have no idea how tempting it is to do "mod for a week." That chaos...The worst part is that we have too many members qualified for this position. Good people will end up getting passed over in this round but in time and growth hopefully they'll get there someday. If that's the case, I wonder if a thing like "Mod for a week" or something could be implemented? Just kidding. Yeah, it's not a bad idea, actually. Although I'd probably use Monitors as the temporary mods, since that roll is already the in-between of regular members and Ninjas. It's something to consider, for sure. 3861

Here's what I sent them again:
Quote I've had several people complain about the ads that come from your service redirecting them automatically and sending them to a new website that tries to get them to install a fake plugin or program. 3862

I have a feeling they're ignoring me now, since it's been over 24 hours since I sent the last email...When I look at the tab Sep7agon is on, I see it "refreshing" over and over.Hmm... Time for another email. 3864

They still haven't gotten back to me about this and it's rather annoying. EDIT: but to clarify, it's an issue with the ad provider and it's out of my hands, really. 3865
The Flood / Re: Firefox vs. Chrome« on: November 18, 2014, 07:52:09 PM »
I used Firefox exclusively, but then all my tabs were lost somehow and I couldn't get them back for some reason. Then...it happened again like two weeks later and I switched over to Chrome because I didn't want to deal with that bullshit.
