And Chief doesn't show up on Locke's. Neat little find here.
That's probably because Chief is not moving...

We had a good run.
TBH this was a rather weak DDoS, if it was one. The other one lasted hours upon hours.

Hey Cheat do you have a test domain that I can run a test DDoS using Low Orbit Ion Cannon? This is to see if someone is using that tool on here.

Btw, no matter how angry I am I would never DDoS this website. Sometimes I say I would but I don't have the balls to do it. Fuck going to prison.
Putting up a separate site to test would do no good, since they share the same server. All of my sites were down during the outage (still not sure it was an attack, guys).

Oh. I see. You should talk to your host and possibly invest in a DDoS security protection thing and then run LOIC to test to see if your domain can withstand the flooding. Seriously there needs to be a way to prevent this.

That, or find out who did it and send their ass to meet big bubba so when they drop the soap, big bubba gets the booty.
It comes standard, actually. It's the reason (if you were around for the very first DDoS) that outages with this host don't last very long and usually don't down the site completely.

So Sep7agon is dying huh?
no you moron

No need to insult me man.
moron.

Jerk.
jerk face

I am the last guy you want to make enemies with. Stop.
It was my understanding the back and forth was in a joking manor, but I'll just advise everyone to stop now before someone gets upset and I ban someone. :)

I'm not sure it was a DDoS, but I've reported the issue to the host, so they'll be able to handle the rest of the investigation of whatever the hell the problem was.

It's better, but it's not the right color. Let's keep it this way though until you see the UX test, though. Be patient please.

I actually just changed it to something I feel fits (0.07 opacity white), so check it out and tell me what you think.
I disagree, but I'll wait to see what you come up with. :)

Yeah, imagine if we kept the headbar as-is forever. I'd rather stab users instead, that would be less painful than that torture. (Just confirming here though, that I'll begin working on it this Friday, so early UX tests will be available about Monday)

The red likely won't be the final color.

It's not a glitch; I've been tinkering with new notification colors since it kind of broke once Isara brought over Sep7 2.0. The red likely won't be the final color.

I'm saying it will take time to get past the testing, re-styling, testing, group companion app creation, and beta testing with established groups. After all that is done, and I open groups up to anyone, yes, you can make Sociopaths United.
Groups will not be open to everyone during the testing stuff?
Not the early tests.

I won't be unleashing private groups to the whole wide world. It'll be invite only to established groups until we start getting more traffic, and as I (hopefully) convince a few groups/clans from other sites to come over and try it out.

This ain't my first rodeo, y'know. ;)
Established groups? So we cannot make Sociopaths United again yet?

As in the other thread: civility please. Warnings will be given if you can't post without insulting each other.

Civility please. Heavy warnings will follow if you keep this fighting up (not the gaming/mod arguments; I'm talking personal attacks).

Private groups? But we barely have enough people posting as it is. We don't need people posting in a private forum.

No one really knows what it is aside from Cheat and he isn't going to talk.

This is actually false.
I'll give you a two day XBL gold card for insider information

Blaze I'll give you a 14 day gold trial that I've had from Halo 4 and never used for insider information.

I dont use xbl anyways. Sorry.

You're only saying that because you hate me don't you?

Look I'm sorry. I didn't think calling you Cheat's Hillbilly Cousin would have been offensive, and if that's not what offended you, I'm not even sure what I did to get your panties in a bunch.
He really doesn't do Xbox that much. He has a 360, but most of his setup revolves around his PS4.

News / The End of Anarchy (or is it?)
« on: March 30, 2015, 03:38:11 PM »
First of all, note the day this was posted; it's not a bad April Fool's joke, guys.

Anarchy, as of this moment, will no longer be opening up every month.

Of course I didn't want to do this; the first few Anarchy's were incredibly entertaining, both in the amount of people participating and the multitude of strange threads that were created. It was chaos and it was beautiful.

Unfortunately, these last couple rounds have been both stagnant and detrimental to the forum. Truth is: people aren't participating as much as they were three or four rounds ago, and it's been on a steady decline. Coupled with that are the hurt feelings and grudges that live on after Anarchy ends. In theory, asking you all to compartmentalize your Anarchy experience from your Sep7agon experience worked, but in practice, the more vocal and naughty members carry over some of that into both on and off-site places.

And so I've decided to shut it down all together, until such a time comes that the board could be fun for everybody again. And with the coming plans of private groups, the board begins to become extremely obsolete.

Feel free to complain in here or leave some comments; if you have any threads in Anarchy that would not be prohibited outside of it, you can request that they be moved.

See you in a few weeks, Dustin.

Quote me as well, please.

We'll just sell Bungie consulting services.

And how is that going to work? Are you going to contact Bungie or what?
It was a joke; she was illustrating how incompetent a web team working for a triple-A game design company is by suggesting the folks running this place, which is without product bringing in hordes of gamers, have created a forum experience that is in many ways superior.

If they do this, then how will the cops make money? But really, that's pretty neat.

But what would happen if someone were to, say, spray paint 88MPH over a 50MPH sign using stencils or something so it looked correct? Would the car know the difference? I think it'd be easier and safer to bind the changes in speed to GPS or something.
How is this neat at all?

I usually go 10-15 miles above the speed limit, so this would affect me quite a lot...
I usually go 2MPH under the speed limit or right at it, so it wouldn't affect me, really. In town, the difference in time spent driving is negligible, and only slightly lower on the short drive into town. You'd have to be driving for like 2 hours to see a difference...
Or if you're on roads where the speed limit is 25mph to 35mph. Going 10-15 miles above the limit instantly shaves off at least a third of the driving distance, so it saves me several minutes.

Say on a long-term trip to something like LA, that saves me about 1-2 hours of time by simply going 85mph on a 70 zone.

And going 10-15 above is generally pretty safe. Speed limits are only so low because the coppers want ticket traps.
Yeah, I suppose. I just never saw the point in speeding, really (especially speeding that much; it's points on your license, mate, if you get caught).

The fear of getting that $100 or more fine for going just a bit faster swayed me away from the practice, and I find that if I give myself enough time, I have no need to rush.

You reach the rank of Inheritor

Could you imagine if that was actually it? Inheritor? If so Cheat is not very creative to come up with his own.
I've said before that it makes sense with the bottom rank, but I won't confirm or deny anything (except for yeah, it is purple).
I mean, it's not really a color since you can choose your own from Mythic up
The default color is purple, then. :P

But yeah, Raw Sugar doesn't appear in my notifications. FIX THIS
How strange. I'm not sure how to duplicate this without her helping out...

Is this just you or is it everyone that has this happen with Raw Sugar? (general question to anyone if you want to chime in, guys)
