Probably the biggest shithole I've seen online outside of 4chan. I highly doubt anyone who enjoys posting here is worth asking to join Sapphire, and a lot of the people there were kicked out of Sapphire in the past for being garbage members. Activity is underwhelming compared to the massive active member count, which is an odd outlier as far as Bungie derived communities go.

1. Religious people should have to be evaluated before serving in public office or as doctors/therapists/cops, because...
2. Belief in a god should be considered a mental illness.
3. Kill the prescription system and make everything accessible. Restrict dangerous stuff maybe (like they already do) and have doctors serve as advisers rather than script-writers.

5. There should be some sort of plan to move everyone off of fossil fuels and onto alternatives like now. Solar farms are the shit and there's no reason to be wasting so much money on energy when the Sun and Earth are basically leaking the stuff for free.

Sure there would have. I have no doubt there are some folks here who still don't realize the "banner" changes when you click those 4 tiles beneath it, and this argument is nothing new.
I'll admit that the fader design is subpar. It's an old javascript swapper I built several years ago that needs to be updated, but the fader/slider itself is not a poor idea. We just need more "stuff" to happen.
Then make more stuff happen, or remove the function. As of now it's pointless and your justification for it is null as stuff does in fact not happen.
Anarchy weekend and mod/monitor applications don't count? I would be more than willing to add one to rotation if there's a tournament or event going on in #gaming; all anyone has to do is send me the banner and the link.
I can sort of respect you sticking to your guns even when you're wrong, but removing that slider would unbalance the front page. A logo would be redundant. Adding a smaller banner makes it feel unlike a homepage and more like a sub page.
Most sites use a slider or featured spot on their home page. Basically everyone knows this. Removing it is not a good idea and it will never happen.

Anarchy sure does count, but I don't really see the point in still having it up and clickable weeks after the fact, when the event itself only lasts for a weekend.
A slider is a great idea, I'm not protesting that. What I'm saying is that it's redundant if there's nothing relevant to show.
As of now it's kind of a meaningless function - and there's two ways to solve that problem. Either remove the function which really has no purpose - or make it relevant, by creating events.
You're the admin and community manager, if you don't create these events, then who will?
...creating events? What? If there is a tournament or contest or whatever, PM me and let me know and I'll add it. I won't make up bogus events just to keep the rotation fresh.

Is it not a good point though, that Anarchy as a listed event after it's closed, is pointless to advertise?
I mean, not only is there a rule about not bringing the events of it onto the mains, but unlike some sort of competition or site update, you can't go back through the site and see what happened in it since it gets locked.
At least have something people can look at on the front page, rather than literally (out of date) nothing.
The front page will be getting a redesign when I have free time, which will include adding plenty of things to look at. The top news slider will remain a top news slider, although hopefully there are enough game nights and events to give it a chance to change every week or so.

Does it matter which word is the correct one? This makes the site look unprofessional and it makes you look lazy as fuck, which may affect how members view your suitability as a community admin.
And yeah, I get that's it's your website and all, but it's still a community and not a personal playground.
You're either:
A: lazy and perhaps should consider giving someone like say, LC, the necessary privileges to do your job for you.
B: not doing this out of some other reason, which would be even worse.
C: Not changing them because they're rotating sliders that show the last 4 major important announcements/events.

And let's say it does rotate, what's the point? Nobody cares about the last major events, we all remember them. We're not a huge site taking in tons of new members a day. Any new members we get leave immediately anyways.
Either way, whatever your reasoning is, there's absolutely no reason to be so vague and passive aggressive. It's comes off as if you're trying be like Achronos, but at least he had the excuse of there being an actual community manager. You've taken on the role of site admin and community manager, but you're honestly as bad as DeeJ in the community manager department.

Rotating slider or not, whatever is up there remains for months after it's ceased to be relevant.
That entirely depends on how frequently we have important/large events that warrant a banner added to the rotation.
