staff is still understaffedhas the staff made a damage control draft to act as a chaff to fend off accusations of a gaffe when someone new will join the staff?Spoileri'm sorry
Tbh fam I think threads shouldn't be locked if an OP just asks for it.

Just curious.

why do people disagree with that basic logicif you make another thread, the OP doesn't have to have his name attached to a discussion he no longer wants to be a part of anymoredescribe to me the problem there, because i don't see it

thread's aren't your property--so what?nothing is your property
Worst-case scenario, it's just needless threads spamming the mains.
A thread is not OP's property, so it's not their call to lock.

with that logic, nobody should even be able to create threads except cheatotherwise, it's kinda like taking a shit on someone's floorOPs should be able to lock their own threads--the end
Firstly, no need to spam this thread.
It's just too easily abusable. It's a recipe for disaster, similarly to strict moderation.
I also can't see how OP not being able to lock their own thread would possibly imply that they shouldn't be able to make threads either--they're two completely different things with no relation to each other.
If they're so concerned about the permanence of the Internet, they should reconsider what they put on it. Staff is under no obligation to create an 'I'm losing an argument or said something regrettable so time to lock' hugbox.
You're contradicting yourself trying to argue that there's no such thing as property, yet OP's should be able to treat threads as their own property. You can't have it both ways.
Fix the unnotify button please. I commented on the Fallout 4 megathread once in the first few pages, and now whenever I log in, all I get is a notification for that thread and nothing else in the "More alerts" menu, so I have to look back a couple of pages to see replies to stuff I actually care about. Clicking (UN)NOTIFY hasn't helped.
Weeb already confirmed for next mod.
Ban meme-posters; they're unconstructive and I don't like them!I also can't see the current method of moderation as particularly strict. Aside from general silliness and personal issues, everything appears laid back and lenient. Perhaps that's due to the relatively light rules or my own newness, but I thought I'd comment.
