A flower which blooms on the battlefield
Because that's a characteristic of a great story.
A shit story can have good characteristics
It still has nothing to do with what this point originally said.
Quote
I don't see what splitscreen has anything to do with this. That twist made other games be seen as great, because it's a really good twist.
I was drawing up a comparison of other stuff you've said. Yeah, it might be a good part of the game, but it isn't wholly responsible for the game being well received.
Quote
It wasn't blatantly obvious at all. It's something you start to suspect like halfway through the game.
What is hyperbole?
Yeah, not literally from the beginning, because she isn't even in the game for a while.
Quote
Seems like you forgot the game.
Obviously.
Elizabeth literally warns you that it might not be possible to get back once you enter it before she opens the tear.
Quote
Yeah I guess that's why it was praised almost universally by critics and players alike.
Critics mean nothing, so...
Nor was it "universally praised", as you put it. Halo Reach and MW3 were "universally praised" too.
Quote
Bethesda games are great and so is Halo 3. They all have great plots.
They don't, though.
Bethesda is good at world building, I'll give them that, but they most certainly can't write.
And Halo 3? Just lol. It barely even has a damn plot. And what little it has is incredibly poor.
Quote
Again, what do you consider a good plot? Obviously you're too embarrassed admit you think Halo 4 sets the bar for modern gaming and storytelling LMAO
Except I don't, and never claimed it did.
Quote
I actually listed several things.
All you did is the equivalent of saying CoD plays just like Quake just because it's an FPS.

I'll play Splinter Cell eventually but I highly doubt it has the same level of quality as any of the Metal Gear games. Except maybe MGS4, but even then, that game is still impressive at times.

Also Quiet is also the only shamelessly oversexualised character in the franchise. Meryl, Eva, and the Boss are some of the most well-written/strong female characters in gaming (particularly the Boss.)

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
Response to Chally's post, just saw Flee's post.
>MGS releases in 1998
>Splinter Cell released in 2002

The b8 is pretty strong, Chally.
It was primarily a side scrolling game, and Splinter Cell is nothing like MGS.

MG does start to copy a shit ton of aspects of Splinter Cell gameplay throughout the series.
That would be MG and MG2, the NES games released yeats before MGS. MGS2 was released in 2001. Which (if you're keeping track) is still before Splinter Cell. And MGS3 was basically MGS2 with an added camo system until Subsistence released, which added a different camera mode in response to player complaints with map design in relation to the overhead view.

And Splinter Cell was a shell of its former self by the time MGS4 released, which also plays nothing like Splinter Cell in the first place.

But if you want to continue to say that MGS copied Splinter Cell, I'm sure you wouldn't mind expanding on the reasons why you believe so. Otherwise, pack your memes and

I'd be interest in seeing Chally do a compare/contrast of MGS and Splinter Cell. Would that count as a review?

I'd probably put that in the "other game analysis" section.

Get that shit out of here.

Spoiler
Just kidding. I'll have to put in a whole new section for mods, though.

Thx fam. I'm more after feedback on what I could do better before I review any games.

Oh, I gotcha.

Well, first of all, I wouldn't bother with the spoiler tags. Reviews are kinda meant to rival the Wall of China, if you ask me. If anyone's intimidated by the sheer size of a review, that's on them. But if you're just trying to make the page run faster, I guess that makes sense.

For the "what's new" section, I would mention the biggest and most noticeable changes first, and then maybe have an entire list of changes in a spoiler tag.

The actual meat of the review (the "my thoughts" section) and the summary should definitely be out of the spoiler tag, though. That's what we came into the thread for, right? No use in having us click an extra thing just to read your actual review.

Include screenshots. Since it's a mod, people actually want to SEE the differences with their own eyes. This also takes some weight off of your shoulders, in the sense that you don't have to spend the effort trying to explain what it looks like yourself—you can let us see for ourselves. Try to take your own screenshots, too, and if you're unable, try to credit the images you picked up elsewhere. It's not a big deal if you don't credit them, but some people may find that kind of obnoxious. Personally, I would try to cite all unoriginal images.

It's pretty well-written, too. Good grammar and whatnot. Organized well. You could do a full game review if you wanted.

id be willing to bet that you will not like splinter cell. Even compared to ground zeroes splinter cell is barely a stealth game. You can pretty much just play it like a normal 3rd person shooter with no consequences. The story's are always generic spy guy romps. There's a reason why half a dozen people have mgs themed names here and nobody is named Sam Fisher

There's no one here named "Arthur Schopenhauer". Maybe he's just underappreciated.

More realistically, you're probably right. Still. A series with that influence deserves to be played even if it's only to criticise.

Which is why Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow are specifically reference when talking about good Splinter Cell, and why Blacklist is better than the past few SC games.

Conviction was literally toted on the platform  of "reaching a wider audience" and that games like Chaos Theory are reserved for hardcore players of the series.
