343 is releasing images slowly around the web. So far, it looks as though we get to seem some of Locke's team, and Blue Team is confirmed. Should be interesting, seeing as how they hired the lead director on Republic Commando, which had an awesome squad command function.

This could be our dream Halo game lads. But it could also not live up to the hype...The fact that Blue Team is involved makes me think it will be heavily character driven. But this could also be a bad thing. I like the feeling in previous Halo games being alone and stranded in an alien environment as Chief. Maybe Blue Team will accompany Chief for some missions. It seems to me though if you;re going to have four Spartan II's in the story line, you may as well have them as playable characters for co-op, less we get a jumbled mess like Reach with eight Spartans running around.

Also Locke's team of Spartan IVs should also follow that four player co-op format Halo 3 had. This game absolutely needs to have a huge campaign. Funny how I can make so many assumptions from one image, only time will tell.

ARGs are different because they involved fans uncovering backstory. In this case it's just a time-delayed advertisement with no interactivity.

Yeah i'm not a big fan of their armor, 343i needs to redo all the halo 4 armors, there just so bland and stupid (well some of them) also why the big shoulder pads, really?

The lack of space diapers makes sense, and the design goes along the Spartan's body better than Bungie's design. But yeah, they are unappealing to the eye some of them.

They're all wearing MKVI armour, not the GEN2 armour that the Spartan-IVs wear.
Kelly, Fred and Linda received similar upgrades that John's armour got when he was in cryosleep on the Forward Unto Dawn, which is why their armour has a similar design to John's.

So no, they're not breaking canon.
