I'm a little burnt out on dark souls. I would like a game with the same mechanics, but one with a strong narrative, real cutscenes, normal co-op and maybe "puzzle" based bosses rather than reflex based ones

But I guess in the end -- Sort of feels like everyday its harder to stay happy where you are. There are all these ways to look through the fence into your neighbor's yard.

Why even risk it? its safer to stay distant.

Lords of the Fallen?

Definitely agree on more strategic boss fights. Right now they're almost entirely predicated on the player's skill rather than ingenuity.

A fucking tutorial would be nice. I played number 1 and was still figuring out the controls when I was given a boss fight. Doesn't help that asking for help with dark souls usually just results in getting shit for not figuring out something which is in no way explained to you.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.

That is the tutorial. They tell you literally everything you need to play the game.

You plunge attack the Asylum Demon by pressing RB as you start to fall, which takes away 50% of its health, then you just run around dodging its attacks until you have time to move in and stab it. As soon as you start to understand the combat it's not much of a challenge.

It never explained the RB falling thing.

It wasn't until I googled it that I figured out how to beat the damn thing. Even past that, the unresponsive controls, uninteresting 'story', horrible creature design, awful fanbase and lack of a pause function turned me off from the game pretty quickly.

It's literally right before the fog gate you go through to fight the boss, you'd have to be blind to miss it.

There's a delay between pressing the button and your sword/shield moving, yes. This is something most people figure out due to how consistent it is, and you time your actions accounting for the delay, it adds more to the gameplay, like it or not.

The story is actually pretty good, even though it's not handed to you and you need to piece things together on your own and discover the world.

I'm pretty sure you're just bullshitting on that one because you didn't get far into the game to see the actual enemy variety.

The fanbase is wonderful, shut your mouth.

It's called play the game or turn the game off. It's really not that hard.

After rigorous studies, I've come to the conclusion that it is not the game's fault that you are blind and have misinformed opinions.

If he can't find a sign right in front of the fog door, let alone get past the very first boss, you don't need to bother with an actual response. Let him think it's "the games" fault.

Even Verb has a better opinion about Souls than this hawk eye.

I like games that are responsive. Not games where I could go make a coffee between when I press the button an the action happens.

That's not really a story. That's just lore. Interesting lore, and certainly original for fantasy nowadays, but not story. Why do I care about this quest? Why are my reasons beyond levelling up and killing bigger monsters?

I meant the aesthetic design. I don't care for it.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.

There is a response, it just has more factors to it than pressing the button and winning. Like bullet drop & spread, and having to lead your target in shooter games. It adds depth, allowing more skill to come to play. The delay isn't even that long, just stop.

Because if you don't the whole world falls into darkness, everyone becomes hollows, and shit sucks. Maybe if you paid attention you would've picked that up.

That's fine if you don't care for it, but that in no way lessons the creativity and the fact that it has great character designs.

Waypoint still exists. I don't care enough to check the reddit, but I'm sure that's not better either. But that's probably my fault since I didn't adapt.

Stuck your dick up your ass to piss in it to cool down the burning pain that the game left you with?
