This should probably be in Serious.

I personally have no issues with using genetically modified foods, but there needs to be more research done and a strong legal basis has to be created so that it doesn't end up pushing third world countries into more poverty.
Research how? What is it that they're supposed to research, and how are they supposed to research it?

If you're researching the average temperature of fire, then it'd be wise to measure the temperature of many fires, of various sizes, but you shouldn't just say that they need to research it.

Mainly risk assessment (health risks and consequences for non-modified foods) and research on what the introduction of GMO's would mean for the global market and development of third world countries.
I foresaw your answer, and thus I wrote "and how?", but you ignored it.

I don't really see how this could affect the third world countries worse than it already is. I can only see improvement. We're already fucking shit up, but if we fuck it up enough, we can fuck up Earth as a whole together as humans.

Provided genetically modified plants come with a de facto right for the purchaser to use the seeds and trade/give them away and that the health risks have been fully assessed with animal trials then I would support switching totally to GMO's over natural plants.
