Personally believe that consciousness is non-local to the brain and permeates reality like a field. We, as humans, are just one part of that consciousness experiencing life relatively inside a living body inevitably destined to die and in turn that 'piece' which is our consciousness will return to the whole.

I feel when I'll die I'll return back in time to the point when I was born, without my memories. The cycle of death and rebirth will continue, shaping my soul to perfection, untill the world end will come where my soul will have it`s final exam. It is just a feeling though, I do not know what happens after death and honestly I don't care.
