I pronounce it gif (as in gift), gif (as in jiffy), and gif (similar to strife). I usually test out each version in conversation to see which one bothers someone most and then I exclusively use that one to bother them.

The majority of people (Correctly) pronounce it "Jif," and the creator of the file type has explained this a couple times. Any time I hear someone say "Gif" I automatically think they're a goofball.
