I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
You get a completely new body, maybe a different name too. Everything about you is completely different except for your consciousness. Vision, taste buds, skin/hair type, everything.

Are you still the same person?

Alternate question:
Is the family you were related to before still your family if you have entirely new DNA? Are you now family to the people your new body is related to?

Alternate question 2:
Is your body without its consciousness a enough to be considered a person?

Well do you consider 'you' to be the physical body, the ego, consciousness, or a culmination of them?

Personally I recognize consciousness as 'the self,' thus I feel so long as I have the awareness that I am, then I am still myself. Regardless of any ego or my physical body.

At your core, yes you would be.

The thing is there would be some noticeable personality changes expected from adjusting to a new nervous system. You'd have different levels of NTs, Hormones and sensitivities to adjust to, your new stomach's nerve centre would probably clash with the brain's expectations of meal quantities a fair but (but given that people eat with their eyes anyway, I doubt it'd matter).

You would be a Chimera ( I think that's the term) where you have combined DNA, so parts of you would be related to your original family and parts of you to your new biological family.

A body without consciousness is nothing more than an empty vessel, at that point it's better to render it down and use the parts to save other lives instead of keeping a vegetable alive.
