also, shouldve gone for an astronomy major. you know, something interesting and not something that can probably destroy humankind and then prosper in the future

CAD is neat.

I did a year of drafting courses in high school. After a while doing the basics on paper (basically the top part of this image) we moved on to autocad and solidworks.  Neat shit.

It is a convenient language to be fluent in though.

i hope you know that just because you're pursuing a CompSci major doesn't automatically guarantee you anything once you're out of college, and it's a shame that so many people have this mentality. just study what you're passionate about and let the rest fall into place.

That's the problem. We don't live in a society where doing what you're passionate about pays the bills.

Passion second, bills first.

Try as you might, you can't escape it. The only slightly better chance somebody has, is doing the whole pay the bills routine, while still juggling what they're passionate about.

If they're lucky, in the long run, their passion stands a chance of being so honed and well defined that it can instead pay the bills while staying as a passion at the same time.

well it all depends on what that person's passion is in the first place. if your passion is sitting around and masturbating all day then, well, obviously your career choices are extremely limited. however, in verby's case, there are opportunities to pay your bills with an english major, but it comes down to how much he really wants to apply himself towards paying his bills and following his passion at the same time. there are plenty of people throughout history who became successful through following their passions.

in short, you'll never know if you don't try.
