Legit question: Could Jon/Dany get Gendry legitimized and use him to usurp power from the Lannisters? I just don't really see a purpose for his return at all. It seems like they're basing out of Dragonstone this season, the seat of House Baratheon.

They've turned nearly all of Westeros against them in the span of half a season which is spearheaded by a borderline insane Targaryen with dragons, vikings, and eastern armies.
