By the way, my parents are totally with me. Naturally, they saw the original trilogy first, and while they don't hate the original trilogy like myself (except for Return), they enjoy the prequels just as much.

And it's not one of those things where it's like, "Yeah, they have their problems, and the original trilogy is superior, but I still enjoyed the prequels." No, they actually enjoy them, and they think all the nerds who are upset about it are just a bunch of whiny crybabies. (And they are.)

The only thing they don't really like is George Lucas's tampering with the original trilogy. Adding the CG stuff, and making it so Greedo shoots first to make Han seem less like a cold-blooded killer(?). And I must concede that, yeah, that shit was stupid. But even still, they think it's... you know...

just a fucking movie

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
People please, there are more important things to discuss

Three is one of the best of the prequels for the reason of actually having a great storyline that even though was fucked like the others, did still stood out.

Still could have been made better.

Star Wars is a cultural phenomenon that has transcended generations and has had a huge impact on science fiction and special effects. It is NOT just a movie.

These are all JUST movies.
That is all they are.
They are not anything else.

You can talk about the societal impact of the movies all you want.
But that doesn't change ANYTHING about what they actually are.

Stories are components of a culture that reflect the human condition and are expressions of our passions, fears, and desires. This is why every human culture has stories ranging from creation myths to tragedies.

Yeah, but normally, it would be the other way around. "Would you like salt on the crackers."

Saying it the other way is nonsensical and weird as fuck.

Hence, this is why Star Wars is not just a movie. It's a piece of our culture.

Actually it doesn't matter how I say it because the end product is the same.

...But it is.

You can't say, "This is what this thing is" and use that as proof for why it's more than what it is. That's just a little bit silly.

It matters because if a joke isn't set up properly, it won't be funny. I'm basically saying that you're not funny.
