Cap plays a pretty epic role in the Infinity Gauntlet, but RDJ is basically the cash cow of the MCU, so idk, really could go either way.

Well RDJ said we should expect to see him as Iron Man "in the double digits."

And besides, even if the other superheroes and Guardians of the Galaxy are fucking awesome, RDJ is their goddamn meal ticket.  He is the reason the MCU still exists today.

The whole thing is about personal liberty versus government control and order.

If you want to make it about Gun Control specifically, fine, but know you're framing it within this conflict between personal freedom and government oppression, so choose your side carefully.

Well, when Joss Whedon announced they would be in Avengers 2, Bryan Singer decided to be a cuntbag and insert them into Days of Future Past (for literally 5 minutes.  All Quicksilver does is show off some CGI effects, be a comic relief, and then has NO impact on the rest of the movie at-fucking-all.)  A legal battle ensued and Quickie and Scarlet Witch were allowed to be in Avengers as long as they weren't called Mutants or referenced to as Magneto's children.

Bad Guys escape Ryker's Island. Kill a bunch of kids in a big boom, and some super heroes. Government passes Superhuman Registration Act. Half of the Heroes join up with Shield and are all "Yeah, register to make everyone safer and make super peeples accountable". Iron Man is like head honcho and shit. Captain America is all " nuh-uh, I dun wanna be registered. I am a good guy and also a true American". So, a number of the "good guy" super heroes join him. Some people get killed. Then like it all climaxes in New York and Captain America surrenders and then is shot before he goes to court.

But the truth is that both SHIELD and HYDRA are rotten, and something else cooked up this whole thing in an effort to break all the heroes up, which kind of gets delved into in the New Avengers storyline, which is one of my favorites next to the Astonishing X-Men, and House of M.
