I have both, and I like them equally, though I'd probably be more upset if I lost my dog because he's more of a companion than my cat is.

I'm a cat person... dogs are so much work and if you work a lot its hard to find enough time for them. Cats are independent and will kill your pests and give you unconditional love.

I was a dog person growing up. Had the best childhood dog ever. But the first thing my wife and I did when we bought our house was adopt a cat.

maine coons are bros.
We had a 20lbs one that would fuck with the old Labrador we had and the dog was just all lazy and didn't care.. Then that dog died and we got a new lab but this one would take no shit from that cat and ended up breaking its back one day after the cat instigated a fight.

He was a cool cat.
