Honestly, I can't understand the public fascination with cake. It's just so.... bleh, and usually dryish, and crumbly, and has just awful icening in it.

I'd say cake.

Brownies and pies are decent, brownies more so than pies.
But the crust is never good.

Cake has icing, which is excellent.

I absolutely adore the peanut-butter icening that my grandmother makes from her grandmother's recipe. Most other icening is garbage though.
