Sure it originated from France, but who came up with it?

If a questions asks me what it is, I can say that liber means freedom, and that it is used to describe the- yadda yadda - but who created it? Who named it that?

It's an oxymoron. Liberals support taking away the freedom to own guns, the freedom for corporations to conduct business, and the freedom of states to exist independently of the federal government.
