Don't mean to come across as rude, but the first one looks better to me. It looks more realistic (although that might not be what you're going for).

The first is no where near the stylized look I'm striving for. Maybe you like realistic work over stylized work but the that old sketch just looks bad to me.

I'm not good at drawing and my camera sucks but here I go

(very) early work in progress for one of the prospective picks for the Marshal of my Black Templars Crusade, which, in preparation for the upcoming global campaign, I have named the Konor Crusade. All I have done are some rough basecoats, so he is no where near done.

This guy is one of the new models clad in Mk. X "Gravis" armor, which is a sort of  stopgap between standard power armor and Terminator armor. The other potential pick for Marshal of my crusade is a custom model I have made, using parts from around a dozen kits. He's wearing just normal power armor.

At the end of July, the previously mentioned Global campaign, called the Fate Of Konor, is starting. The campaign will allow players to dictate the fate of one of the major systems in the realm of Ultramar. I am trying to get my Crusade completely painted before it begins.
