[the one who actually wanted to change things]
Sorry?

You're also forgetting the fact that people who are celebrating the 'rise' of Sanders apparently have no sense of recent political history at all.
I'm well aware that Congress would shut him down at every step. Just because Congress wouldn't support him doesn't mean he didn't want sweeping change.

I see people are already jumping the gun by calling this a victory for Clinton. There's still a big chunk of the country left, Sanders isn't out yet.

Also keep in mind that most of the Super Tuesday states were southern states.

Because it is - spin it however you want, but Clinton walked out of Super Tuesday with more states and more delegates in total than Sanders.

Quote
There's still a big chunk of the country left, Sanders isn't out yet.

Yes, but the problem that Sanders is facing is that, in the states he's losing (more racially diverse states, and Massachusetts for some reason), he's losing by so much that the delegate math counteracts any win he gets.

In Minnesota, a state he won with 61% of the vote, he walked away with 47 delegates to Clinton's 28. In Vermont, a state he won with 86% of the vote, he got 19 to Clinton's 0. In Colorado, he got 35 delegates, Clinton got 24.

You look at these and say, great! He's winning a lot.

But in the states that Clinton won, her proportion of delegates knocks Sanders flat on his back: 44 to 9 in Alabama,  70 to 28 in Georgia, 41 to 22 in Tennessee, 138 to 61 in Texas.

Yes, Sanders is winning states. But he is losing more states at such a high percentage that Clinton is sweeping him off of his feet.

Quote
Also keep in mind that most of the Super Tuesday states were southern states.

And? As a candidate, Sanders has to get support from more than just his white, college voters if he wants to win in the general - including the support of Blacks and Latinos, which he has yet to do. The South is his place to prove part of that, and he's failed.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
I'm well aware that Congress would shut him down at every step. Just because Congress wouldn't support him doesn't mean he didn't want sweeping change.
So you're essentially saying that you're going to vote for Sanders knowing he will be a lame duck, but at least you'll be able to moralise the election and look down on everybody who didn't vote for the Little Revolutionary Who Could.

It seems more like you're interested in signalling that you like systemic change and big, progressive policy initiatives than you are achieving those initiatives. Whatever you think of her, it's eminently clear that Hillary Clinton is the best chance of any kind of actual and effective progressive government than any other candidate, yet she's just not progressive enough for your essentially moralistic and impossible standards.

Because I don't view voting as a game.

I don't get a reward for picking the winner. This isn't Las Vegas sports betting. I'm voting for the person who most closely represents my views and what I want in our country.

Will I vote for Hillary in the general election? Most likely. But that doesn't mean I'm going to throw in the towel and vote for her in the primary.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
That horrible rich, white, businessman is going to ruin America. Surely this rich, white, career politician will make things right.

You're all dumb tbh fams
You skipped the part where if you supported the Independent Jew [the one who actually wanted to change things] you were a damn commie and a childish retard.
To Bernard's credit he doesn't appear to be stupid enough to go full commie.

That doesn't keep his opponents from conflating his positions and his supporters with communism.

That's exactly why I like Bernie, because he doesn't do that. Even if you don't like Bernie's policies, he's the kind of personality we need more of in DC. He's clean, he's honest, and he doesn't insult you.

The delagate system is ass backward in general. Why just tally the votes when you can tally them so that we can request that someone will hopefully represent the votes somewhat accurately and then have that go out of the window anyway when a bunch of people get to chose whatever they want anyway.

nothing

trump is still leading with cruz following closely behind--they both still need about ~850 delegates apiece

clinton's massive lead over sanders is still comprised almost entirely of superdelegates

If you all stopped throwing hissie fits over his immigration policies for a solitary second you'd realise that Cruz is actually the more extreme candidate.

>flat tax rates
>wants to criminalize abortion
>more aggressive foreign policies
>just as extreme when it comes to immigration

Super delegates are meaningless anyway, they'd never go against the popular vote since that would be suicide for the democratic party. The only reason they're being included into the count right now is to attempt to suppress voter turn out from the Sanders camp by making it seem as though he has to overcome impossible odds to win.

It's not false. Look back to Clinton's run at it in '08. The supers go where popular will is, and that has never changed. If Sanders managed to actually start winning states, they'd flip sides.

That requires Sanders to start winning more states, though, enough to show more popular support.

It's a circle. To win more delegates, Sanders needs more states. To win more states, he needs more delegates. Superdelegates are afraid to be the first ones to take a step away from the presumed nominee, Clinton. Yay.

Pretty much. Unless Bernie starts printing posters with CHANGE plastered across them, I'm afraid he might just be hanging on until July.
