Serious Board Rules

1. About The Forum

• The Serious Board is for discussion of current events, philosophical discussions and personal issues.
  See the end of this post for a full list of recommended topics.
• Serious is meant for somewhat serious discussion of particular topics, you don't have to be completely serious and deadpan here, but low-energy memeposts are liable to be kicked to the flood.

2. The Rules

• Personal Attacks, Harassment, and Flaming are not permitted.
  Violating this rule is likely to earn you a ban from serious for a day or longer if you have a history of these offences.
  
• Baiting and Shitposting are not permitted.
  Take that to the flood, or we will kick it there for you.
• Memes, Gifs and Mockery
  Pretty much a staple of serious at this point and I imagine part of the reason people still use it is for the banter that occasionally flies around. You are permitted to use them, sparingly, but they must be relevant to the topic or post to which they are directed.
  Memes and Pictures may be removed if they appear offtopic.

3. Serious Warnings™

• A ban from serious does not necessarily ban you from the rest of sep7agon, but breaking site rules in serious leaves you open to those as per usual. You will be barred from posting for 1 day, increasing in length for each previous serious ban you have on your record (by 1 day).
• Moderators when issuing a serious board blacklist ban should also issue a 0% [Serious] tagged warning into a user's ban history to allow for repeat offenders to be more easily spotted

4. Suggested Topics

• Below is a general list of suggested topics for discussion in Serious. This list is not concrete, and new suggestions can be added.

Personal Life Issues (Medical, Schooling, Family, etc.)

Thread has been updated today, some simplifications as to what is permitted and what is not.

The short version of changes are that we will be tighter on dealing with memeposting and personal attacks in here, but this isn't going to turn into some meme-banning hugbox.
