QuoteNot only is that missing massive variables, it's an argument against food stamps, not wages. No one is forcing people to work at Wal-Mart, and you could easily live on $8 an hour. Once again, the problem is the government itself. They've destroyed the economy beyond repair. Raising wages would make things slightly better temporarily, but things would become much worse later on as it's ignoring the actual problem.

That's impossible. Good luck getting past monthly rent.I did watch it.Who said anything about rent? I said you could live on $8, not live luxuriously. No one owes you anything. Theft is not the answer.

Quote from: Nuka on October 18, 2014, 09:05:56 PMUh, hello? How do you expect to live in the real world if you're not paying things like monthly rent, food, electricity, water, and any other monthly bills you get? Minimum wage alone in most places isn't even enough to get past basic rent. That's why people are forced to get food stamps.I do just fine. It's called working hard and relying on yourself rather than being dependent on others. These things are unaffordable BECAUSE of things like food stamps and government existing. Humanity survived most of our time as a species with none of those things. It's called living off of the land.

You can prove anything with statistics. Even more so when you look at ONE corporation, in ONE state and then try to extrapolate that against the whole country. I know you mean well but the reality is far more complex than this.
hm, dats kewl, good thing i dunt wurk @ walmart or pey taxs. u fkin jely fgts? Sweg v Sweg me irl m80
I think part of the problem is where you live.Anyone living in my area or even my state could easily live off of $8 an hour.

That's why minimum wage laws are different everywhere. For instance where I live you could rent a 2-3 bedroom nice apartment for $400-$500 a month

You can't even get a crappy 1 room studio apartment here for that... those run for $600 at the lowestAnd in a nice area in LA it's like 1,000 for a studio apartment. Hell, there was one I saw a few weeks ago for 850 on Crenshaw Boulevard. That's beyond ridiculous. Minimum wages need to rise to the cost of living.
